i experience de same thing too.me using de direct port air filter.everyyime rain like dat.fed up:nono: anyway...anybody know where to buy de filter?mine rusty oredi.

can explain wheel balacing.. izzit the addin of the small weight on the rim.. i thoughtr big bike then need one??

-check tyre pressure

-check wheel if round n straight

-asper silversurfer, balance yr wheel at any bikeshop

-check steering cone

As posted above, on top of those, you might need to to modify your suspensions and do the correct wheel balancing. Most importantly, check the steering cone. It's dangerous if there is wobbling due to that.

 

Above all, why do you wanna travel more than 100km/h on a Wave? It's a communter bike, not a bike meant for racing or high speeds. It's way too light. You might need to add more weights to counter the flying effect. Then your FC will be worse then. Think twice.

i dun know if this is a common problem.. few months back i brought my wave from a 2nd hand shop.. i never really take care of it like i never warm up long enough and i never change engine oil for some time..

 

now it is giving me problem, i felt tat the bike give of a strange engine sound.

sound like that is ball bearing in the engine.

 

the speed and power oso had been reduced since then. the engine oil had reduce a lot even i change it every 1000km.. someone told me that the piston had problem and eat up the engine oil.. is it true

 

someone pls tell me

-is my piston spoilt and need to be replace

-how much to replace the piston

I tink it time for u to over haul liao! Coz ur engine eat ur E.O very high.

 

Abt the price i hav asked lots of shop in sg or jb but they say tat is hav to depend wat spoil inside den can qoute out the price! They say ard 300 to 400 or even can reach 500plus! in S$... But i think jb over hual will be much cheaper, due to there labour fee is cheap!

jb around RM 80.cleans ur engine and front parts of the tear and wear of ur bike.......

juz go service ur bike... my bike also eat up engine oil... i fill up 1litre, everytime change come out only like 300ml.... itz normal.. depending on how u ride...

The effect of an unbalance set of wheel with be aggrevated at a higher rotation speed.

ya my one so.. i add 1L then i travel less then 1000km i changed again cos the sound in the engine become louder and it onli drain out for 3sec and no more..

 

i had enough so i asked the person to do overhaul.. workmanship is 120dollar.. and all other parts are less then 50 each.. so i changed everything add up to 427.50 dollar.

 

my one fx plate so fast need to overhaul.. think i didn't take care properly.. the guy ask me to warm up 2min everyday and change engine oil regularly.. i think it is important now.. i dun wan to have problem in engine nxt time le.. hope with new engine the power will come back.. i like wave cos the engine very slient.. cannot hear it sometime.. so good..

how many km is it in ur meter when u bought your bike?

i see can make more silent at jb, they make many rows of holes at the inner pipe.. anyone know about that?

almost the same mileage as mine. but mine is working prefectly fine.

 

maybe the ex owner didnt take care

427.50 is in sg money. i do it in alxendra.. workmanship is the most expensive part. they charge 120dollar for opening up the engine. this price may varies from shop to shop. the parts that i change i forgot le but tmr when i get the reciept when i collect my bike i will post it up again.

 

but wat i know all the parts inside they changed is not expensive at all.. not even one item is expensive then 50.

the guy who do my bike told me not to drive fast and drag the gear after the overhaul. he say cost all the parts are new.. they need to be driven smoothly and slowly for the begining stage.. which i believe is engine "run in"..

i think it is best to run in for the next 1000km before you start whacking..

 

hmmm...not so sure for 4 strokes.... but if 2 stroke, E.O reduce maybe oil seal leaking which causes some of E.O to leak into block...

 

but jus take good care of your bike. you treat it nice....it will serve you well
