Seems like there are more middle to high income people riding these days. Seeing more Bmw, Ducati on the roads.

Or it used to be their weekend bikes. But COE now so high so must make full use of the bike and ride everyday. Or simply alot are willing to live through years of debts moreover shops are offering zero downpayment plans.

For people with $40K bikes, the $6.5K COE is actually cheap when compared to class 2B kupkia riders, for whom the COE is more than the cost of the bike. Such is life.

like cars..... some ppl say, we bikers have been blessed with cheap COE all these years. Car owners haves been subject to these % of coe vs car price since Parameswara landed on Temasek

The bike workshop that I send my bike for service, the boss told me his business has DROP more then 50%. Most of his customers are 2B bike owners said they can't afford to pay for so high COE to renew and on top of that they still have to pay to maintain their bike! Buying of new bike is even more and is ridiculous to pay so high for 2B bike! COE price is more then a bike price, might as well go and rob!

FYI those who don't take MRT, last evening North East Line MRT break down again! My sister in law was force to take bus back half way before reaching home to see a doctor! My brother in law have to take bus from HarbourFront to Punggol, he take 2 hours to reach home curse and swear meaning:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

Imagine if morning breakdown all the ppl will be late for work, appointment...... :bouncefire::bouncefire::bouncefire::bouncefire::bouncefire::angry::cry:

The MRT or public transport should be in tip top condition since they want us to use it, why price keep going up but condition so bad?

Everything goes up but quality not there! Like I eat "yong tau foo" at food court at kopithiam they get a china worker to cook till everything is so "soggy" and over cook. You pay $5-$6 to eat this kind of food:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry: Is our standard going up?

Recently in the papers there is ppl that request LTA to give two Category for bike. So that is fair for small bike like 2B to pay higher COE!

By looking at the above polling vote not everyone accept or can afford 4k and above COE, only 7.07% out of 99 vote accept it. That means these are ppl who are buying bigger bike and they don't mind paying these price!

Imagine 70% are below 200cc bike, it is fair for these ppl to pay so high? Because of small number can afford the big numbers have to sacrifice!

Some may said still got ppl can afford to buy smaller bike with 6k COE! First of all, are these ppl pay full cash or by installment? What is the percentage of these ppl. paying full cash or by installment, anyone know?

Big bikes some shops give subsidy on the COE, because their profit margins higher, so can afford to give subsidy and close the sale. Buyer finds the price acceptable also hence proceed with the purchase.

Small bikes profit margin so small alrdy, cant afford to give subsidy.

so u wann split the 70% demand of coe? So u think which class will have higher demand? Which COE class will end up higher? I dunnoe the answer, and I'm afraid the result may affect the bread & butter bike owners more

even if you split the bike coe, demand and supply of the main suppliers (big bike shops) will cause price to be high. the solution is to tell the garment that bikes do not cause congestion and more coe should be allocated to bikes and not to take away the coe to open category is it is unbidded
