Why not the next bidding, everyone visiting this thread go and try to bid for COE, you will realized it is so easy.

Spread around, hopefully many will know and only bid when necessary.

Simple solution, don't buy from bike dealers, unless you are stupid and idiotic to pay the coe, buy from each other, of course i hope we all bikers can help each other by not overpricing our bikes, or are we as selfish and money minded as the bike dealers. And wait for the coe to drop as no one buys from the bike dealers.

New bike you got no choice.

Unless you can import and go thru the testing from LTA.

Do the shops sells the bike by itself? If so then we can get the COE and get the bike from the shop at machine price.

I'd say only a small majority of rider visit this forum.

Maybe

2% of singapore's 2b riders

10% of the class 2A riders

25% of Class 2 riders.

of the above, only 10% are active singaporebike forum who have a decent chance to stumble by this thread.

to make it sound simple, i guess only about 1% of all singapore riders are active in singaproebikeforum and have a decent chance to stumble upon your thread, to even consider this plan :(

Thats is why everybody is working and working hard day and night paying the their debt and high expenses without knowing what has happened! When something goes wrong they start to blame and blame!

Usually buyers will only consider only the full amount of the bike without knowing what they actually paid for! Although those who know the COE and bike is high, they still go for it as they can go for a longer period for the loan. If can't afford to pay then they will let the bike dealers tow back for resale!:dozed:

( like contractors that bid for projects and uncut each others, once they can't sustain it they will run away or go bankrupt and leave the Sh*t behind!)

Yes they do but price will be higher bro! you still don't see the picture from the earlier posted by hachi ?

You can bid for COE, every 1st and 3rd Week of the month. Try it, anyway the admin fee is only $2 or $3.

However the system works this way, as it is open bidding, dealers can see your bid and out bid you.

That why usually you will see COE prices raised up during the last 30 mins or so.

I though the government will not allow company or companies to monopolize, why dealers can see the COE bid? That makes me can't understand?? Close bid or open bid?

one part I am puzzle, is it the bike dealers or some other organisation pushing up the COE?

I agree that higher coe = higher loan = higher interest

BUT higher COE = higher OTR price = lesser sale = less profit for the bike shops overall

I talk to the sales guys of the shop I go and service regularly and they are also complaining about the high coe thus lesser sale.

Posted

higher COE more revenue for the govt ma.

now 1 bike coe is nearly 4 bikes coe last time .

if u wan to bid and spend the 2 dollar, i prefe to throw it at singapore pools

Higher COE lesser sale, so what do you do? Bid higher so you can secure a COE and sell a bike.

I beg to diff on the statement on pay and pay without knowing what happen? I mean ones committed a loan and know the amount and monthly installment.

I would whether you can sustain the lifestyle a not. I know of few brought a Busa when they studied full time. Sad but truth. Poly 3 years become 5 years cos working too much part time and spend less time on studies.

I happened to see this:

http://www.allsingaporestuff.com/art...es=og.comments

What helmi mention "BIKERS HAVE THEMSELVES TO BLAME FOR RISING COE PRICES", what I had disagreed is the number of bikers spend more on their bike on accessories and modification is higher then the COE, That is only a "small number of bikers" do that! He can't simply use a minority to compare a majority group that just ride a simple bike for their daily transport! For myself I have not upgrade or modify anything on my second hand bike(everything is original), when I look at my car park more then 90% bikes are original without upgrading!

BTW I'm having a 2B license for more then 30 years and only own 1 scooter without any upgrading now ( my first bike 30 years ago no COE no headache). I'm already satisfy to travel around from point A to B as the unnecessary high cost of living and low income has force me to downgrade from Car to Van to Bike. It make me loose a lot of Jobs that I can't take when I change to a bike! We don't earn that much to cover the high cost here!

Quote by helmi "Why don't whiners who're buying bikes start telling the dealers "I'm only willing to pay COE $2,000 max. Any more, screw the deal." Don't sign on the sales agreement unless they add that in writing." when is come to bidding basically dealers would wish to get more sales and at this moment. If COE is $5,504.00 and buyers is going to tell the dealers I want the COE to be $2K below. You think the dealers will entertain him/her?

With this high COE only the descend and lower income bikers will suffer! For those that own 2 to 3 bikes, who is in the position to control the market?

We buy a bike is due to a convenience to transport us to places that MRT and buses can't reach. For others is to cut down the time where cheaper public transport(buses) will take 1 to 2 hours traveling from point A to B when they go to work! (If you work 8 or 10hrs a day, your traveling time is average 3hrs to and back exclude the time on your preparation before work. How much time is left?) For bike it only around half an hour!

Authority wants all to take public transport, but must understand that many places no proper transport link...

Like my "somebody" stay SengKang, planning to work CCK there is no efficient bus service. Daily need 2hrs public transport, 4hrs on the road and worst mostly packed, and need to stand... Cant even take a nap. So decided not to take the job

If we do it individually, we'll get ignored.

If every one of us does it, it will change the industry.

Hard..

Remember each bid exercise only a few hundreds of COE

As those not wanting to wait for bike are out number those who want a lower COE..

How many are united! Humans are very selfish animals you die better than I die LOL, things that dun hurt them they don't bother until it happened to them and they feel the Pinch or PAIN then they will start to blame and blame!Too.............Late (Digging each others graveyard)

COE the government would not care you bid high they get more you bid low they get less!

The dealers also don't care they bid higher just to get the papers so that they could sell their bikes to the buyers, NO paper can't sell!

Buyers who thinks they can afford to pay now, they will allow and agreed with high COE but once they can't pay in future, the bike will be tow away!

SO don't blame & blame!

This is just a start, if COE don't jump higher again !

Simple calculation: $5,500.00 divide by 10 years = $550/year divide by 12 month = $45.83/ month (exclude petrol, maintenance, bike depreciation, insurance, road tax, car park, fine if unlucky....) If you think is worth then go for it but can you pay for your loan in future....

This helmi person is probably just bummed that he could not afford any aftermarket parts. We change to aftermarket parts to increase performance and safety. Also for the aesthetics. I mean why would you not want to feel proud of riding a nice pimped out looking bike? Your bike is just an extended part of you. Hence why different people rides a different bike and have it configured to their liking. To each its own. Different folks different strokes.

Not true le. People who dun ride or drive always view bikes or cars simply just a transport mean - your bike is not part of you. Given the number of ppl taking mrt, they are the majority.

That's why my relatives dun understand why I wash bike.

Why not we gather together, set aside 1 day we can all meet and talk abt this bidding thing? Actually i am not really sure abt this whole damn thing, any experts, as bikers spread the word around, we bikers must be united though it will be difficult, so any suggestions? I believe everyone is not happy with the bike coe. We should not just sit around, do nothing and continue get screwed by pay and pay and all the greedy MAJOR bike dealers. We need someone who is well versed in coe and its bidding, if anyone can do that, i am all for it, so what say u guys?
