[Discussion] Typical prices for Phantom repairs & mods

Usually around 400 sgd. This would be labour cost and may not include parts, depending on motor shop. Typically items changed or cleaned will be at least piston ring, piston, cylinder surface etc. Best to comms with mechanic what he will do upon disassembly and if he charge extra for parts. Some don't.

SALUTE...if you mean changing the clutch plates yourself. Clutch cables are much easier, and they cost in the region of $10ish iirc.

Clutch plates change around 100-150 sgd, I can't recall. That was because my clutch basket was worn and have to be replaced also. Anyway they usually dont swap out the springs when they change the clutch plate set.

Hi never tried this before but was thinking open and see. That's why if I can buy a scrap good condition bike can open n see n at the same time take the parts. Some of my parts are old.

Too much engine braking, use brake better. Will check the price and try my hand at changing if the shop charges too high.

Posted

Hi they do not check high low beam so far if you are worried about that. I think got head light can already. Have you checked your bulb?

Posted

no idea how to check the bulb :/ dont dare to touch scared spoilt. how much is changing the bulb or wiring if things gets complicated?

Posted

Should be just the bulb fused. Worst case scenario is one of the relays under the left front chrome cover is kaput. Bulb $6 relay is $20

you are lucky you sent to ah chong. The shop i went to the last time insisted that I change the block...knn in the end spend $1.2k plus...I angry until now.

I went to Unique on 6-Mar for oil change and rear brake pad change. I knew that the clutch plates are worn out too so asked to change them as well. I was told about $90 for clutch plates but when he opened already, he said need to change metal plate also which is $40(4 plates for $10 each). In previous posts, I never saw metal plates price. I myself saw him changing the metal plates but still want to check that the metal plates aren't part of clutch plates or what. I am not aware of that at least!

Posted

Hi the plates is part of the clutch assembly. The friction is usually sold by itself.and is something like 7 a piece from what I hear from a phantom rider. The metal part price I got no idea the price. The gasket is 7. At least they didn't ask you to change the basket.

When it was removed, was it an easy removal? In that nothing dropped, like gears etc when it was removed? I was thinking of doing it myself.

Yeah, the change process looked quite simple but you need to first drain out the engine oil to change it.

Sounds good, hopefully this battery lasts. Better avoid shops on Lavendar St, their demeanor also is 'Take it or leave it'

The price list is from Unique Motorsports. Think on the bright side you are in fact getting a higher spec battery

hi guys, my front fork leaking oil. need to change the whole fork or can just top oil & re seal?

usually ppl willl change fork seals first and try to find the source of leak. may not need to change entire fork, could be just a bug that is interfering with the seal. changing fork is extreme when you cant find the source of leak or the pitting due to corrosion is that far down the tube.

operate a vehicle in a way that you benefit other road users pls - and meanwhile, stop whining! be responsible and be safe.
