gd suggestion but tough one though. sg bikes tend to be more orderly while Q-ing up - just a personal comment and experience, so a bike lane for sg bikes might not b so bad an idea after all.

dun flame me - it's just my 2 cents worth

What i noticed is the malaysian worker (Not Malaysian visitors nor Singapore PR) will cut Q from there. eg.

Far at the JB side of the causeway, going in to Johor, what i noticed that there are 2 lanes, 1 for malaysian, and 1 for Singaporean......

however when there are jams at the Malaysian lane, the malaysian bikes still stroll into the Non-Malaysian lanes just to enter Johor and go back home.... it's not fair at all .....

Another thing is at the Woodlands side where motorcycle entry lanes begin .... they will just block the cars on the right side and detour to the front entrance thus causing jams for the cars too .. whereas the bikes on the left side Q-up in an orderly manner ....

Tired and need to go home and sleep ? well .. that's the main reason .. 5 years ago .. entering JB is so smooth even without 2nd link, but now ... everyday 70,000 malaysian motorcycle punch thru the checkpoints to go to and from work in Singapore......

which in turn makes it a necessary suggestion and appeal to the goverment to open up lane for Singaporean/PR passport to exit the country with it's own lanes. couple of times i'm stucked in the jam and late for PG sessions, time delay in touring, and business trips to KL and Petaling Jaya due to this jams ....

Alternative routes is 2nd link. True! but somehow at certain times, it's hard to find accessibilities like money changer, servicings and maintenance checks.... Everything should be done right b4 u slot in ur cash card at Tuas check point.

I'm supportive of the idea, but gotta say I'm really skeptical about the govvy actually doing anything about it. We're "second-class citizens" anyway, remember? I'm not sure of the actual figures, but I would think motorcyclists make up a smaller % of locals going up north. But with that said, some commendable individuals actually went through a long drawn-out process to get tinted visors legalized. What's your suggestion? A petition?

hi guys cornerkings now in kl went through 1st link a few hours ago, head dizzy banged and bumpped, inhale toxic fumes, how long can this go on for.don't blame govement as the people who can do something may not be aware of the problem we singaporean bikers face.anyway we have decided to bring the matter up to our MP once we get back from KL,it will be good on your part if you have a meet your MP session in the area where you live to bring this matter up,together we can might be able to change things.

took a long time for fullface helmets to be aproved,as for tinted visors think going to be difficult with the increase in security here. but using the example of new lta standards for tinting of passenger cars a logical case can be made.

Yup. i also got bad experiences like the smokes, jam, heat, etc... like what you guys are talking about. Haiz........... prehaps someone might wana write in to the immigration department to justify all this stuff. Suggesting a better way like maybe since they are introducting the chips in the passport, have a scanning machine in the custom migration. What we need to do is to scan and go. I think like this will be faster. Hehez Agreed? :bounce:

I think your MP is going to say one of their fave line: "If not happy, don't go there lah!" No joke. I know someone who had some gripe and went to see his MP. He was told "If not happy, can migrate what." Sheesh. Anyway good luck, and if we get our lane, I buy you a big drink. cheers!

Lolz. Prehaps that might be the case. just curious is anyone really going to write in the suggestions to the migration department? :cheeky:

I think the problem lies in the funnel design of the road leading up to the customs. When you get ten bikes across trying to fight for two lanes, what do you think will happen?

One way to ease this is to make everyone que up in two rows much further back from the customs. But then again, when you get a lane wide enough to accomodate one single Goldwing, you're gonna get idiots riding their bicycles squeezing 3 bikes into that space... :faint:

Yah quite true also. Prehaps i think they can try to come up with other ways to ease the jam. Hm......... like what i mentioned earlier of the chip in the passport. But guess also quite impossible or prehaprs can separate it into more lanes during busy or peak period or try to redesign the path or the road or something lor. Anyone got any better Ideas? :bouncefire:

maybe they can let sg ikes thru at another location, like when the congestion is so bad, they let all bikes enter to clear thru the car areas...

Guys I am in the same fix as u guys and I have my share of anger but those poor Malaysian workers are not really the cause of it. Jostling at Q pretty normal anywhere else also like that.

I think the problem is the damn design of the immi booth placed that way to save land space. Instead of opening up like Highway toll booth everybody is squeezed into two lanes. And all the booths are placed in a vertical row. So for them to dedicate a lane for Sg plates will mean opening up more land space which we have to fight with cars. We will of course loose.

BUT if we have the roof extended way back beyond the current roof and get some relief from the sun and rain, that I am happy also flatten the land area so that we do not have to turn on our engines will be great. Those exhaust fumes are not healthy. What's worst the temperature hit so high at noon, one bike catches fire and we have a mass BBQ.

ACTION: CAN SOMEONE POST AN ADDRESS HERE SO THAT E CAN ALL WRITE TO THEM ABOUT OUR SITUATION? email? Who can action any idea?
