I must confess - the last time I went over to JB was on 1st June 2013. It was a Saturday afternoon and I queued nearly 1.5 hours before i cross over to JB. Now, I have no idea, can anyone help?

Yes, Friday is a working day, so can expect the jam to last up to 8:30pm at the causeway.

5pm was just an example.... :sian:

I usually go into JB on Sat or Sun between 11am - 1pm.

No jam only light traffic, 3-4 bikes in front. But it's damn hot in the 12 O'clock sun! :bouncefire:

I am familar with the causeway side, not so familar with the 2nd link.

One suggestion is to meet at the Jurong Bird Park and ride over together via second link the way they usually do back in the past.

If going via 2nd link remember to bring "Touch and go card" and "Cash card"

I guess my face isn't big enough... hahaha.

Maybe if one of you biggies organize, then people will sign up. Arthur, Silent Hunter anyone of you feel like organizing one?

I happened to be at Changi Village on Friday, saw this big group of riders (Harley, Honda 750). Kinda miss the big group riding feeling.

I guess the timing/ date isn't right besides the point that the invitation is hidden inside the chit chat thread. Anyone can suggest a better date/time?

No lah, you should open a new thread like what I did some years back.

Like that can get more people's attention also not so messy to keep track off.

I wonder if phantom would ever survive the test of time and become a classic bike that people would collect. Just like the Seiko Turtle Case Diver watch I have. Cheap, reliable and an icon of its own time.

should become very rare in singapore because does'nt make sense to renew the coe :D

but that's the case for most bikes / car

The seiko 6309 7040 in 1970s was very much like what our phantom is like today. Cheap, no nonsense diving watch that offers up to 150m iso depth. Just like the TA200, no nonsense 4 stroke 200 cc bike with the style and flexibility. The seiko can be modded to receive different watch glass, watch hands and bracelet. Just like our phantoms that can be modded to suit the individual's style of liking.

Interesting analogy, but I guess the difference will be, while those Seiko watches kept value, even increase in value, it is not quite likely that the phantom will react the same way.

Ps: Still looking for a Seiko 6138. Hehe.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

I hope to live long enough to see phantoms becoming a collectible bike. Given that production was in 1999 2000, I'm hoping it'll be rare enough in 2030. And by then that my bike would still be as good as it is now.

i do not see it becoming a collectible bike, but i may be wrong.

If you really intend to keep it for so long, you might want to buy spares to keep.

But with the freaking Coe price now... It's not feasible to renew a CL2b bike for $3k... IMO... I might be wrong...

Welcome back, Sentinels of PK. You presence is much missed here.

Now that we have restarted some semblance of the old FNO and kopi sessions, which of you Seniors would like to organise one and bring back the fond memories of past?
