i love the older heavy metal bands.. the new ones like system of a down and the new metallica album is like... speed metal + thrash metal + heavy metal... it sounds very different from the metal bands of the past...

i listen to Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Man-O-War, Megadeath, Loudness, Heloween/Haloween(until now i cannot get the spelling right!).. all these bands play solid music.. very unlike the new metal bands... metallica was good until the mid 90s enter sandman was prolly their best album. master of puppets also maybe.

Anyone heard the strapping young lad's new album, Alien. It's pretty awesome.

Altho devin 's vocal are abit theatrical he has some nice pipes. Gene's drumming packs a brutal punch in every song

I like helloween, sonata arctica and Stratovarius. Anybody know other bands whose singer sound alike?

i like the old helloween when kai hansen is the lead singer. they play true heavy metal. when he left the band after keeper of the 7 keys part 2, helloween is not the same again.

 

and lastly, R.I.P to Ingo Schwichternberg (helloween original drummer), who commited suicide. (u are one hell of the best drummer in Heavy Metal world)

scorpions got me in2 the metal scene....tho metallica's been my heaviest influence. old schools like iron maiden, helloween, iced earth, megadeth are pretty nice as well
