hi guys out there riding your lovely bikes! i am scouting around for some good 2B transport bike for me to save up for so that by the time i get my license, i would have enough money to get it straight away..

i'm looking for a bike for 50% fuel efficient, 30% style, 20% easy maintenance..

probably some of u would recommend me wave or something.. but i am not looking for those like scooter kind.. prob something like RXZ or Phantom would be nice or something along those lines.. :cheeky:

budget would be 2.3K and below..

my suggestion is get a 900 bux rxz, get a rider fren bring u go jb and overhaul. guarantee less then 2k.

otherwise, just get a decent 4 stroke bike like wave or phantom..

this forum been here quite long. use the search function and find out. lots of people have been asking the same qns over and over. there must be answers to ur needs right here.

Fuel efficiency (from best to worst)

Bajaj Pulsar

CBR150

Phantom, RXZ

Since you're getting something that can save you a great deal of cash, and not look like ****, RXZ would be my best choice. Only problem is with kickstarting it when engine stall on slope lol.

It is quite hard to find a 2nd hand CBR at a low price, and Pulsar machine price is WAY too expensive despite having 50km/L FC. Phantom has a long body and not everyone might suit it.

And RXZ machine price is really dirt cheap. Good for value and maintanence!!

Yah, should get a cheap bike like the Suzuki GN125 or something similar. That time when I got my 2B, also bought a cheap $1000 bike. After that, I buang about 3 times. Didn't bother to repair it. Just scraped the bike, got back $500 from the COE leftover and upgraded to 2A :thumb:

i'm not sure how old you are... insurance issues.

if you're gonna put aside 2.3k as budget, minus off your insurance first... then use the balance to hunt for bike.

remember that the balance amount has to cover for:

1) bike cost

2) road tax

3) transfer fee

4) riding gear

5) basic 1st servicing.

cheers!

Yup, for 18 years of age, insurance can be a real massive portion in your budget.

If you buy your bike from a shop, basic serving should be covered in the package.

As for road tax, it will cost about $80 per year for a Phantom TA200.

Wow, riding gear... It is not compulsory, but I suggest you don them for safety. The range for the budget of riding gears can be really wide. It depends on the brand you go for (e.g. AGV helmet v.s. T.H.H. helmet). You can go around the Jalan Besar area to scout for your gear at your suitable budget.

Good luck with your 1st buy! :thumb:

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:
