For me saving up for insurance its a must, but paying insurance 1 shot (ard $1k+) its really a big pinch in my heart. If buy bike downpayment for $5k okay lar, but imgine u pay $1k+ just for a piece of paper o_O if no interest at all why not pay by installment, no harm =)

Look like there is a lot of rich ppl here, thousand + insur can pay one shot, down payment for bike 5 K, very rich,

for me a new Fazer 600 only need 2.5 K down,

and maybe be cos i'm A Little BIT OLDER

Hey Newbie, whats your problem with class 2 bikers taking installment on insurance? No offence, but if say i save up enough to straight cash buy a second hand big bike from Garage Sales, interest free installment on insurance works better financially for me than to buy from shop for a OTR price but installment on payments plus agreement fee leh. I'm sure many people own big bikes but pay monthly installments. So whats wrong with that?

The only thing i felt went overboard was this guy who asked in HKL advertising thread, "pipe can installment not?" That one is siao...

Bike installment and car installment is very normal one leh. Now got insurance installment and interest free, i think its actually to our benefit. While i am not using such a scheme at the moment, i was thinking, why not?

I have a qns on how this installment system works.

Wat if u get into an accident while on installment, how do u go about doing the claim?

As u have not paid fully, does it also mean that the sum u can claim depends on how much u have paid?

Would they raise ur premium suddenly after u have made a claim and thus resulting in higher monthly installment?

Sorry if some feel the qns is stupid, i just heard of this installment for insurance plan.

all insurance is the same, all pro go to them and con to us, if not pay on time and BUANG they will say ur insur is vote, and they wil UP your insur that's confirm, as for claim will be the market price which is up to them to say one la, if u want to pay by installment u have to pay on time, if u made a claim like lose of bike they will pay u market price and deduct the remin and + this + that lo, in the end u got a little bit only.

so ride safely, pay and don't claim and u be fine

They will still give payment based on the full premium u have paid . They will then raise the premium on ur next renewal.

Its like those buy now pay ltr scheme .

ya loh i also wondering what happen if i kena accident during installment..2 yrs straight accident...july last yr n oct this yr...last yr they jack up my premiums to 800 bux from 287 bux although the case close with me not at fault.they said they gonna review in 2008 but now accident (again) n i win the case (again) donno they would reimburse my 2006 premium money or not.

as long you didnt claim any insurance to your company, they should'nt increase you premium and should reimburse you back your 2006 premium. the best way to check is to call them up and check with them

think the price jack on your insurance should be due to recent increase in insurance premium. since you insurance increase so high, i think your age should be 25 and below. recently increase in insurance for younger age rider like 2~4 times more than previous year.

A second of precaution is an hour of safety. It never hurts to ask.
