To lower a Motard.. DRZ or a HUSKY per se

Im standing at less than 1.6m but am super interested ta purchase a DRZ4 or a HUSKY450.

 

In fact, I've already set ma mind on gettin' one. Is there any fool-proof way of not affectin' tha alignment or posture of tha bike after it's lowered?

 

I learned tat by lowerin' tha forks, it will affect tha alignment so tat is probably not a very smart choice.

 

Otha than "thinning" tha seat, what otha suggestions are there ta lower tha rear or tha entire bike?

You can lower the rear by using a rear lower link, it will lower the seat height by about 2" without affecting the geometry. Then you need to lower the front correspondingly by sliding the fork tube up the triple-clamps.

 

Next you would need to chop off about 2" off the side stand, otherwise your bike will topple over to the right.

yeapz.. lower linkages will help.. but i`m 1.64.. still can manage on a drz.. stock suspensions n didn`t shave off my seat.. y not u try riding one first..?

 

husky is a gd bike.. but maintanence wise is comparable to ktm as its more of a race-ready bike.. not recommended fer daily rd use though unless $$ is not an issue.. =)

I'm standing at 1.55 ler. Tried, couldnt flip tha bike ta tha ride side.( or mayb i was hesitant cz it aint ma bike. )

Honestly, bringin' tha motard ta tha tracks is intended. Tat's y i need sumthang lower. Eg: I can easily swing ma GSX1k abt when i'm in jeans but afta donnin' ma suit, I can't exactly reach tha round.

since u`re intendin to use fer track n seldom on da rd.. best is to go fer a husky.. but drz is gd choice too.. boils dwn to da rider actually.. try bof bikes.. n u`ll feel da huge difference compared to ur gsx 1k.. frm der.. u can narrow dwn ur choice by feelin which bike suits u more.. all da bez in selectin ur motard.. =)

Selling this baby for $2000neg continue instalment 2 years and 7 months. Selling cause getting a new bike. I just use it for 5 months. Use this bike for only races & weekend ride. This bike does't give any problem so far. Just when for full servicing that cause $675. Just change the rear tire (power race $210). Will give GPR pipe along. alamak..can onli lower the seat height by 2 inch onli ah?..which means the original seat height is 89cm, reduce 2 inches means its onli down to 84cm...haiyah still cannot reach i think....damn...i oso 1.55m in height leh and i'm just a short dude..hahaha..but i alrd made up my mind to get a new motard..was thinking drz..how ah?..any more suggestions??...

I just got an Aprilia SXV 5.5 on sat.

 

I tink tha bike is **** cool and u wldnt have a prob wit it. Trust me, i bought it already.

 

Nway, eat more is a good option. When u eat more, u becum merry and heavy and bein' heavy brings tha bike down more!!

hmm.. i tink all scrammies are abt da same.. juz stiffen or soften da front n rear shocks to make it suitable fer ur height n weight.. no doubt.. still gotta tip toe.. =)
