Hey guys. Just wondering how much does a brand new Shadow ACE cost?

I checked out wit one shop before and they are selling it at about $14K. Pretty steep.

Does anyone of you also know where to get a brand new one? (Boon Siew?)

You will need some bargaining skill to push down the price. You can check at Universal Motor if they still kept any brand new piece that is not of 2007/2008 version which, should be slightly cheaper.

Unless you plan on keeping it till its COE expires .. which you probably will not, buying a brand new bike for CL2B or CL2A is not recommended. This is because if you sell, you'll probably lose quite a lot. Why not opt for a used bike. If you don't like it you can change .. I have always said this .. bike is not your wife. You can change! Even some marriages end in divorce(I am not advocating this!) what more your bike ....

So go forth and have a fling ... with bikes I mean!

hahaa thats a pretty reasonable outlook of life there LOL. anyway, i wouldnt mind getting a used Shadow but the problem is, most of the bikes on sale are near to 10 yrs. one would doubt the engine quality. or shadow is known to have a pretty much reliable engine?

i dare say that the shadow has got a freaking reliable engine. correct me if im wrong.

Its a honda and its a fact that you see lots of 'matured' shadows and steeds on the roads.

well thats what i usually hear bout bikes 400CC and above. better engines as compared to lower CC bikes. apparently difficult start in 2B bikes are common. how bout for shadow 400?

Wear and tear is inevitable .. just like human beings .. :)

Not to worry as even if it breaks down, there are still parts as its still in production. Unlike humans, parts are hard to come by ... :)

Boss already recommend you Shadow is good means it's good no need to worry one. hahaha.

Do do a search from past posts and thread. All in the info you need is there. If there are repeated questions then the forum will be a huge messy chunk of repeated informations.

But since I'm already typing this, might as well:

Maintenance wise for Shadow is the same with any other bike, or as a mechanic once told me, same as Super 4. There are no difference between the 2 bikes cept the engine. Both use chain, has EO and spark plugs to change. Same brake pads and fork oil and all that stuff. Nothing special. In fact for Harleys also the same. Probably the cost difference you see is cause of the workshops you go to. Like you won't send a BMW or Mercs to a normal workshop. You'd rather send it to the official workshop. But then that means you'll be paying premium rates then. Hope it helps.

Well, i have a 1 yr old Shadow....fantastic bike! Comfort level is superb...simple servicing.....I'm thinking of letting mine go for 11K to buy a class 2... if you're keen pm me...

11K seems a lil too steep bro. Just add a few more and one could get a 1st hand.

1st hand Shadow costs around 14K. Don't you think its a lil too pricey for a 2A bike?

Pretty caught between gettin new (dunno if its worth it) or used (dilemma cos most used are so damn old, >8yrs).

Hence, 3K less for a 1 yr old isn't too bad afterall.... take your time to consider

good deal for those who are intending to get a brand new shadow...
