Calling for prospective Singapore owners/riders of the American-built V8-engined Boss Hoss motorcycle.

Having ridden the big brother (502 ci = 8200 cc) in this range in the States during the last year, and attended the Boss Hoss annual rally in Dyersburg (Tennessee) last month, I can tell you there is no other bike that rides like it. The current model has a V8 fuel-injected engine, 2-stage automatic transmission w/reverse gear, is 1100lb dry weight, and is capable of infinite customization.

LTSA have not objected in principle to the import of these bikes, and although there is no official dealer at present, if there is a sufficient number of buyers and riders interested I am sure we could find a mechanic to maintain and service the beasts.

Important disclaimer: no way am I interested in being a dealer or importing more than one bike (for myself  ). Rather I am looking to kick-start and help coordinate the efforts of a group of like-minded individuals who'd like to own and ride this type of bike.

if this interests you, please add your name in a reply: I am planning we get together in early November, probably out west at one of the 'bike bars'.

If you're wondering what this bike is about, here are links to the factory site and some reviews.

hmmm actually with that much power, riding in singapore would not be enjoyable at all i think.. bikes over 1000cc already feel like dirt in singapore what more 8000cc? BUT... BUT it would be EXCELLENT for rides to north malaysia, thailand and above that!

also, they should revise the road tax calculation if they decide to bring this in. would not make sense to pay like what $4000 a year for road tax. ( i don't even know how much 8200cc would cost!)

It's your damn bike, wash it yourself! You rinse your own mouth after you eat, don't you?

Yep, when I rode from Dyersburg to St Louis I used second gear maybe twice the whole trip :) - agree that the AYE and ECP are not the best playing grounds for this machine, but most of us already head north to stretch our bigger bikes...

As for road tax, LTSA have already indicated that it would be classified as a car even though it has 2 wheels, due to its weight (not its engine size). Likely would only know for sure when further along the import / licensing process.

If it is categorised as cars then the Roadtax $13K+

Every year can buy new bike....

Even if the road tax is estimated to be S$8,200 as posted by nE0, you could also buy a class 2B motorcycle.

Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.

BossHoss cycles - true beauty.

But too bulky for Spore and Malaysia roads too. I guess you have to gather ppl who got $$$. If that person got a Ferrari or Lambho or some other exotic cars stashed somewhere in his garage, I believe that person might be intrested.

For the rest of us folks, ..... its only "What if....".

Alternatively, Victory Cycles can be ur choice maybe. Something unfamiliar on our roads here. Can compete with the Harley boss. LOL.

Gudluck in your quest.

If u manage to bring in the BOSS, we shall hear u roar & rumble on our roads.

Just to let those who responded know that as we only have 2 confirmed attendees, meeting regretfully cancelled due to lack of interest. Better luck next time :)

Huh? The Indian motorcycle are still in business. Check out the enclosed link.

With respect, not much use being "still in business" if you're not making any bikes - as they say themselves

"Previously, we communicated that the bikes would debut by the end of the 2007 calendar year. As we near that milestone, we have discovered we need more time to deliver a product that will meet our expectations and yours. We are currently aiming at production in the second or third quarter of 2008. Our timing is based on manufacturing a premium quality product. Only when this goal is accomplished will we introduce Indian back into the marketplace".
