hahaha, just for fun lah....there are just that many thunderbirds on Singapore roads so if you see one of this color, it's likely to be mine.

There's another short handlebar Thunderbird in British racing green ridden by another one of the quieter forumers here.

You should see the chrome on his ride.....

very clean and nicely kept.

Yes, they probably should have put a double disc brake.

but it doesnt affect me at all becos I am using an after market Erdinger caliper

with triple pads so the braking power is excellent...

Also, the rims on my thunderbird are not stock. They are wider at the back and bigger and wider on the front.

Triumph made a T-bird sport version with adj forks and twin discs up front. This is a lovely machine which unfornately not in production anymore. It was a lovely ride.

Almost imported one but LTA were a bit difficult to deal with.

On the modifications of the front end to a double disc set up, you need to get matching fork legs and hubs that will be able to accomodate a twin disc set up.

Yes re-laced to stock hubs

Front rim is 17"

I'm not too sure about how difficult to upgrade to twin disc but , it doesnt look easy at all especially when there isnt an additional bracket on the fork for that purpose.

Yes, I was simply doodling and everyone who sees it knows that but there is absolutely no need to show your "smartness" by posting the plate number like that.

Do get your forum ethics in check.

Unappreciated

another view

Number is quite obvious here no?

So what is it about forum ethics when someone was actualy citing the obvious, and not using some high-tech software to actually remove your doodling to purposely and un-ethically, review your number plate?

Anyway, it is ok if a retro looking bike does not come with matching old number plates, although I must agree, that an old number plate do enhance the image that the bike should project.

It's called respect to the bike owner, William.

Respect stems Ethics.

Note that his post pertains to my earlier picture.

Look at it this way:-

If your friend's wife is wearing see-thru translucent skirt, you are not going to shout out loud to everyone in public in front of her husband and say "hey, look at her panties, it's white in color. why? Becos you respect her husband as a friend or in this case a fellow forumer.

If you can see, then so be it. but no need to publicise. right?

It may be true that I cant hide anything with that low tech doodling, however I dont appreciate this and I was making it clear to Bo Mai lah.

I understand your stand on this Throttle. And agree with you that it isnt all that wise to advertise a number plate in the open. Who knows what can happen if someone wants to use it for a purpose other than good.

But I think Bo_mai could have "slipped" and it might not be intentional. Actually if he didnt mentioned it, I wouldnt have known or be bothered to guess what the number is anyway.

Yeah William, it's ethics and it's not very nice to publish such info unless the owner is consulted first.

Hi bro william,

I do agreed with what Throttle had written.

Hi Throttle,

I guess bro (bo mai lah) is just a straight person.

Hi bro bo mai lah,

It's not the miles per hour you go; It's the smiles per mile you get

My bad then...

what triggered my response was the way he responded to bo mai lah, who is a friend. He might be blunt (straight forward) sometimes, but he definitely does not deserve the reply below.

there is absolutely no need to show your "smartness" by posting the plate number like that.

Do i sense sarcasm/insult?

Dont preach to me about respect when that is the way you reply to a another fellow forumer. You make it sound like as if he was intentionally trying to expose your doodling, which he was not.

Next time, just blank it out (editted and non-editted). Else another person might dis-respect you by mentioning it again.

And if my friend's wife is wearing a translucent dress with pink panties, you're right, I wont shout out in the public infront of her husband.

But I'm pretty damn sure she WANTED to wear it knowing the whole world can see her panties. At the very least, that's a more interesting sight.

Look William,

I aint preaching about respect nor anything.

I'm explaining my stance on why I didnt appreciate what he wrote.

Of course, he would not appreciate what I wrote too.

but that's becos of what he wrote FIRST.

but I have nothing against Bo Mai Lah beyond that.

Hey. I'm cool....

I'm just stating my thoughts too.

Its just that bo mai lah did no reference to your mental interllect whatsoever.

He was not showing his "smartness" by reading your number plate off the picture. He's just reading it off. No "smartness" required.

Yes, it might have been rude to do so, but its undeserving of the insult/sarcasm. There are other ways of expressing dis-approval.

I hope you get my drift too Throttle. Other than that, I have nothing against you too. In fact, i quite enjoy your cigars reviews. :thumb:

Sarcasm and telling off - yes, but it certainly is not insulting. Whether it was deserving or not, I have already explained my stance.

I do think that Bo Mailah meant no harm and I might be a little strong on words there. if he is not satisfied with my words as I am not with his, then maybe he will reply me. Perhaps you are his good friend or perhaps a heroic "swordsman" of some kind so you intervened.

Let's just keep to topic now , shall we
