I just got my Daystar a week ago. It runs fine and am really happy about it. One thing though.. I find it hard to gear down. You kind of have to trick it into it. Is this normal or should I have the shop look at it?

Normal.... if you buy first hand.

 

when entering a red traffic light you must gear down on the move. then it`ll budge. if u use your front and rear brake then when u stop u gear down then got problem?

If Im gearing down from 4th i have to: pull clutch, gear down to 3th (cant go further), release clutch, pull clutch, gear down to 2th, release clutch, pull clutch, gear down to first. I seems excessive. Normally I would pull clutch, gear down, down, down..

orca: removing the silencers is simple enough to do it urself. try it man

 

alxgarder: i get the same thing with my bike sometimes, especially when i've stopped at the lights and i wanna kick down gears. then i gotta pump the clutch before i can kick the bike into the lower gears. so far its not a problem, just a quirk.

i was told that to knock back my dented tank and to respray the body with 1 colour would cost me abt $300...

 

need ur opinion if tat price is reasonable??

Well, try to ask around the other bike shops and compare prices bro... Sometimes it is good to go back to the dealers but at times, we riders also need to weigh the costing as it is $$$ from our own pocket... That is just my humble opinion... Cheers bro...

sorry dude i dont know how to upload photos here. anyway u just look into the end of ur exhaust pipes. u'll see 3 rivets ard each hole. those are the ones to drill out. the rivets are holding the silencer in place, so once u drill out the heads of the rivets, u can take some pliers are pull the silencer out.

Hi hi bro Orca..if you can afford it, by all means go ahead and do it coz it's best to listen to your heart...there'll be lots of advises from lots of riders but if you've done your homework and it's the best thing for you to do it, then i encourage you to go ahead...Anyway, it's your ride and you are the one who will be riding it...Be happy with what you do to your bike and both your ride and you will go a very long road...Cheers bro and hope this helps ya...
