krabi u can check out dis hotel that i stayed.. it's at Ao Nang and it's called The Verandah. The hotel cost me about 1500THB per night. It's also near macDonalds and there's a row of Muslim steet hawkers near the hotel. there's a 24hour store in front of the hotel and if u wanna visit the A-Go-Go bars Krabi style, Soi Entertainment is just 5mins walk away.

 

If u'r interested to go for island tours, check out Barracuda Tour Agency.. Very friendly, lunch provided and also can pick-up from your hotel to the agency during the day of the island tour..

bro, my suggestion is you set off later.. i find that there is no point for you to set off in the heat of the day.. The night is more cooling and u can use the day to rest or catch some sleep.. furthermore overnight at the RSA will make you more sleepy as it's not proper sleep.. Try to get a gd day sleep and set off later.. I give you a laydown of what me and my buddies would do normally when we ride up to Hatyai.

1200am - Ayer Keroh Jejatas R&R ( 212kms ) [ no prob for super4 and fazer to reach this distance cos i tried it before with both bikes travelling at 140km/h]

1230am - Set off for Rawang

200am - Rawang ( 175kms )

230am - Set off for Sungai Perak

400am - Sungai Perak ( 190kms )

430am - Set off for Gurun

6am - Gurun ( 169kms )

730am - Set Off for Hatyai

830am - Border ( 142kms )

 

** timings and distance are estimation.. and are roughly based on travelling at 140km/h**

 

the journey from Ayer Keroh Jejatas to Rawang is about ..furthermore most part of the road will be lighted so u can pick up speed a bit down there.. Rest longer when u reach Gurun and wait for the sun to rise before moving off.. dun forget your sunglasses as the morning rays direct to your unshaded eyes will make you sleepy.. that's what i normally do plus 1 or 2 cans or PowerRoot.

 

Thanks egaabwaa for the info.. Regarding travelling at night.. we discuss about it and decided that riding up in the day is better. For one, visible is much better than night, furthermore since its the year end, we are expecting heavy rainfall and fog along the way. I believe riding at night is more dangerous especially in heavy rain.

 

Resting at Gurun RSA won't be as comfortable as hotel room but I think its better rather then riding through the night. Your suggestion of having day sleep is good but most of the time I find it difficult to have shut eyes in the day(not use to it). Also I most probably won't be able to sleep because of the excitement of going for the trip. Might as well start the journey..

Verandah hotel seems nice.. will check it out.. Btw, during my search to find the cheapes but not crappest hotel in krabi during the super peak time( alot of hotel full... haiz) I manage to find this Budget hotel.. Grennary Hotel located in Krabi town... cheap.. cost us about 800thb for twin sharing and 200 more for an extra bed.. Furthmore the review seems good..

Hotel for 1 nite in Hatyai and 2 nites in Krabi

Twin - $56

Triple - $37

Expenses, we are not sure as it's our 1st time but dun tink it costs a lot over there. May try snorkelling, rent a bike to explore etc.

• Activities - Thinking of going for shopping, snokling, bike exploration, relaxing and chilling out @ the beach.
  
• Micellaneous - Thai Insurance depend on bike type. Should be about $20 to $30. Not so sure.
  

 

Entry Into Thailand(by road)

 

Documentation u need for u & ur vehicle:

- completed arrival card & valid passport with at least 6months before expiry.

- copy of vehicle registration card to prove country of origin from onwer for permit. Permit must be endorsed before riding into Thailand.

 

keep the carbon copy, return it back before u leave, else there will be a compound fine for ur next visit with the same vehicle.

 

If u r not the vehicle owner u will need to provide all these;

1. copy of vehicle registration card.

2. a letter of authorisation clearly stated;

-- owner's infomation & vehicle detail as per copy registration card.

-- the length of stay & purpose is to be use in Thailand during ur stay.

-- signatory from owner.

 

** a fee of rm1-2 or 20Baht will required to pay to the custom officer for endorsing ur passport(must pay for both in & out).

** no fee for endorsing vehicle permit.
