ROV caught me at road shoulder but..

hi all bikers..

 

today ERP after amk ave 1 extented the time till 11am and i was unaware about it..i reached there about 10.55 and was suprise to see why the ERP is on so i parked my bike at the road shoulder to find my cash-card..many other motorist..malaysia kups and singaporean bikers was doin the same thing or some not havin cash card like me too ....today was so unlucky that i forgot to bring my cash card i left it at home..then the ROV came at 10.58 (wtf right and started to write down the plates number and shouting parking at shoulder 6 demerit points ..im a p-plater with 12 pts - 6 pts=6 pts..just passed not even 1 month still got like 11 more months to go..how how how !! appeal ?? to who ?and how oh man what a unlucky day man..any 1 of u today kena also ? anyway there was jammed also lo by the time i passed the erp its already 11 so its like so not fair for me !!!

Wow.. today ther was a new ERP gantry open at CTE.. wen i was returnin frm school.. Within less than 1 km.. there is 2 ERP gantries & together i got 75 cents deducted.. I read the ERP timing n stuff beforehand coz i was aware effective from today many new erp gantries open.. Jus a piece of advice, best is to put cashcard inside IU unit at all times, if u r unaware of the timings.. ofcoz dun forget it to take it out at d end of d day =)

next time, no cash card but got IU unit, just go thru....better than kena all the worst **** fine n demerits...just try to appeal k...no matter wad just giv it a shot....if no chance , den LL

YA Today I also had to stop at shoulder, but stand on white line, when ERP came on. Lucky spotted the ERP around 200m-300m so got time to put in, but don't know at that range the camera can capture I stop before gantry or not ...

it's hard for the ROV or TP to know if you really dint have any cashcard or wadever, as there's many others who stop on rd shoulder b4 the ERP gantry for trying to escape paying until it turns off.

 

while i tink you may be a genuine case, i still dont tink your appeal will be successful. Go to MP directly and ask for help.

 

if MP doesnt wanna take this up, you'll know wad LTA will say to you if you appeal in person.

 

Next time, jus go thru, kenna fine a little, and then when letter come, just go LTA appeal. Appealing for the fine is easier to appeal for wad you kenna now.

 

This applies even if your IU is not working properly or spoilt, jus go thru.

The ERP system has been designed to allow deduction of ERP charges at the

point of crossing the gantry.

 

 

We recognised that some motorists may unintentionally forget to insert the

CashCard properly into the IU, or have insufficient balance in their

CashCards. Hence, we are currently exploring on a payment scheme to allow

motorists to pay the consolidated ERP charges on a monthly basis for

greater convenience. We are still in the feasibility study stage.

ooo thanks crazy. i'm hoping for that too but i have a feeling ERP prices might go up again to cover the cost of postage and the extra labour.

 

so sick of forgetting which gantry is active and which is not especially on weekends. the worse part was, after i rode past the gantry without cashcard, i decided to go down to LTA to pay the ERP charges. the person told me that i cannot pay in advance. have to wait for the letter.

 

it's quite silly that they don't accept payments like that but insist that i wait for the letter and pay the fine too. i mean i went down personally to LTA to pay for the ERP charges. i wonder what do they do all day in their offices instead of being so inflexible.

 

guess i'll email in to suggest that they implement that.

i have crossed the gantries without cashcard countless times & i'm sick of paying that $8++

of the times that i rem to put in cash card... i conveniently forget to remove it & i have lost count how many cash cards i have lost too...

saw the gantry still on... then had to make unsafe lane shifting to the shoulder to take out my cash card..

not just morning. i was at town just now 9pm and exit to cte (AMK). and was damn surprised the gantry showing 9.09pm, operating. Good thing i put in the cash card because i going to a ERP carpark at bedok.

 

and well.. that explains the heavy traffic jam at cte just now. but i don't understand, why operate a gantry for traffic going out of CBD??

Nowadays the gov really earning a lot of money through ERPs and fines. I got fined $8 + gantry cost a few times cos i didn't know timing extended. Lolz. I read the papers that cars ERP cost a wooping $5, OMG! Can go through ERP 10 times wor. lolz.

i once have same scenario like yous, i dun stop, lan lan just ride in then later pay fines $8 rather than suoi kena fines by ROV. what to do, choose how much you want to pay, cheap or ex.....It S'pore.....PAY PAY PAy laaa....
