wow~ thats the more enlighting stuff u gave HamsterZ.. THNX~! so... for dyno run in roughly how long (time taken) and how much(KM) it will take/clock?

HamsterZ: u change ur EO at 80-100km? wat engine oil? rock oil or the fully syn de?

GrimReaper: Roughly estimated how much u'll clock till u change the EO to fully Syn?

as according to the manual it shud be 1000km then u complete u're run in? then shud be changing to Fully Syn?

BLur lIaoz.zZ.z. :giddy:

from the "motoman" (dunno what man i cannot remember  ). Suggested is withing the first 30miles or something. Some when on dyno.. mentioned it shld stop hard running when your baby does not show anymore bhp increase. Run in is not time dependant though...

To me, i got no dyno. I also cannot control swee swee 30miles. So I did as short as possible from the 30 miles loh. Compromise mah. I dunt want to pay $80.. so this is my only way hehe..

I used mineral , ESSO 20W50 for the first oil change. The next 2 oil change is also the same mineral oil, but i rode hard during then. Final fully is close to manufaturer mileage.

Ride hard & safe...

Guys, heard that the initial acceleration of the R6 from 0-4000 rpm feels sluggish 'coz high 1st gear. Izzit possible to drop the 6th gear and add a lower gear before 1st, to be more of a stoplight king? How about dropping a tooth off the 1st gear? If possible, what's the cost like? See, I plan to ride locally only. Thanks for any feedback.

That is true for the 06R6. For 03~05, R6 is actually pretty good compared to similar year 600cc from Honda/Suzuki. Only the 636 wins at that range. But this is just first gear lah, drag it a little thru the rpms and you'll be fine.

You can change sprockets, stock is 16front/48rear. Some go to 16/50 or even 15/50 for much improved pickup, but you need to do a speedometer correction as the reading is off. If you really want just pickup with min effort, consider a 1000cc.

Cool!

I suggest make those 'dry fit' types cos cooling & also last much longer than those polo or those normal T's.If you like, i can lend a helping hand on this project.

Thanks, TeePeePhobe.

I've owned the ZX750R & FZ400R before, and for local streets, the 400 was a bike with a much bigger fun factor. Reason being you can keep the 400 in the powerband on local streets, while it's so effortless that it bores on the 750. However, I feel the 400 is a tad underpowered on local streets. I was thinking, a 600 will be swee.:cheeky: Originally considered the 1000 K6, but wouldn't that be even more "boring" than the ZX750R on local streets, as one can't chiong?

I'm a fan of the new R6 :lovestruck: , but will it accelerate 0-30 km/h slower than a CB/GSF/CBR/GSXR/FZR/ZXR 400 RR, since its 1st gear is so high?

Also, I don't quite understand about the gearing. Shouldn't a 15/50 be a higher gear than 16/48? I mean, on racing bicycles, a 53/12 is a heavier gear than a 52/13 gear  ... please enlighten ... thanks.:cheeky:

There is no way the new R6 will perform anywhere close to how 400cc perform, it is not that high and the extra 200cc has alot more grunt than a 400cc at similar rpms.

Yes, 53/12 is heavier than 52/13, but if you're a spinner, what gear will be better? Likewise, the R6 is a 'spinner', if you want it to accel faster, you drop the front and up the rear, bring it up the rpm range faster.

Oh ya hor ... 53/13 and 15/50 are lower gears ... haha, I mixed up liao.

Between 16/50 and 15/50, I wonder if 15/50 will result in excessive wheelies, as it becomes so much more torquey on the gas?

Also, what's the why do you guys choose the R6 over the 600 K6 ar, since the K6 has definitely stronger low rpm grunt?
