i would recon get a seperate voltmeter and gear indicator.. say dynamax voltmeter and gipro gear indicator? but would cost you like $90 more ar...

In case anyone is wondering who is the a**hole who bought the 2001 carb R6... it's me

Ok, major issues. Bike stalls at traffice light cos the temperature shoots up and overheats. Then bike cannot start for at least half an hour (you all must be laughing now that luckily you didn't buy it... haha). Chain and spockets (damn sharp, not changed for 9 years!) are falling apart so a new set is on it. Both forks are bleeding with fork oil Engine's pretty rough so washing of carbs and retuning in progress. Bike at Planet now... I'm a 10yr rider and this is my 3rd 600. Hope to join in for some info sharing with the lao jiaos here some day.

Anyone know where to overhaul the engine of the carb model '01 R6?

I think it might need one. Anyone here done it before? How much did you spent? Thanks for any advise.

 

how much u got ur bike?? if i were u i'll scrape that bike... rather den spending so much on it...

Solved the problem. Fried rectifier.

$4.8k lor. So far spent $900+ on it liao. That's why I need to know who did overhaul on '01 R6 before and how much it will cost. I already made the bad decision...either way, I am not going to sell a problem to others to fix.

1) I fix it or

2)I scrap it.

 

Scrap now lugi about $3.5k lor.... if overhaul already can last at least 5-6 years, it might still be worth it imo.

So far I think the problem is, need to change the pistons. Smoking at the engine breather pipe now into the airbox. I googled quite a bit on this. When pressure builds up, it stalls out of the blue while riding. Happens when over 94 degrees C (hot). Cool weather no issue.

 

Huge loss either way. Shouldn't had bought the bike, but what is done can't be undone right?

 

Think scrap the bike and sell the newer parts away .. Might get some cash back in return?

what's your budget?? mayb spent a cap of 3k in repairing everying which means overhual, clutch, retrifier, coil, timing belt and wiring... i think that should be all... cause overhual some they dun do this... i did my 06 for 2k++ just valve clearance, clutch, injector and brakes.... now it's working in very good condition. so all the best to u bro

I got it for 15.3k. Internal should be stock. Got pipe, slider, single seater. Standard few accessories. Shop should be selling at about 16-17k. 08.

Hey guys i just got stopped by lta for my exhaust, im riding a 06 r6 with full arrorw ti system(got cert), he said the catbox from the full system is missing so the pipe is considered illegal and i have to change back stock to ride??..full sys got cat box meh and he said lta never approved full sys for r6 before??..Any brothers riding r6 06? need help leii!
