car auto change the ecu to suit the condition ?

so if i change exhaust the ecu auto tune to the changes rite?

then will my car improve on fuel consumption?

cos my idea is that, if remove the restriction then more energy can be channel to the wheel thus reduce the consumption

mmm my plan of mod is for fuel saving . if not fuel consumption is the same then maybe abit more power.

wad u mean by mod other things?

if more modern cars, the ECU tunes in a feedback loop based on Air/Fuel Ratio.... and if you remove the inside of the exhaust, more air can flow = more petrol needed... if the ECU can manage it by changing the pulse duration of your injectors, well and good... if cannot, you even need to change your injectors to a larger size...

this is jus a rough idea of it....

One can hardly make the car fuel saving unless u bought a real gd FC car then there is no need for u to Mod to save fuel.

likewise u wan to fully maximise ur car power then u may start by lightening ur car weight like take out spare tires, change light rims, CF bonnet n boot n get ur ECU tune so u can hav a smoother power ban for ur car as in terms of performance.

Yes, ECU cars will learn, and do the necessary changes, but within the setting of ECU mapping.

Yes, it will re-learn, but you may not get the optimal performance because the existing parameters in the ECU mapping may not cater to this new exhaust system. It may even confuse you ECU if you remove the cat, and your 02 sensors give a false reading to ECU. Putting a resistor to trick the ECU to think there is a cat is definitely not the correct solution.

then will my car improve on fuel consumption?

Typically exhaust mods are for performance, so fuel consumption is definitely not a priority. Having said that, a performance exhaust system may not necessary increase your fuel consumption if you let the tuner knows what is your priority.

Having a high-flow exhaust system, and all others remain stock will effectively increase your fuel consumption because at low rpm, the car will feel sluggish due to the lack of back pressure.

Generally, the stock setup is the best for a balanced fuel economy, reliability and performance.

Personally I don't encourage exhaust mods for street cars because you are merely shifting the power band as no exhaust mod will give you a performance increase throughout the entire range.

Er.. he wanna save fuel means wanna save money right? CF bonnet $900+- and light rims not cheap also.. if spend 2k on those,2k can pump lots of petrol!!

the exhaust restrictions I believe you are referring to actually provides more backpressure which actually boost low end torque and acceleration.

this is incomparison to a bigger diameter exhaust which flows better and u the gains are seen only at higher rpms.

in spore, how often do u exceed 5000rpm?

traffic light grandprix is just not worth this mod.

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

well i hav to agree on tht instead of spending on tht kind of accessories he can save up on other importants needs. Oh btw its my mistake tht i meant to say 'Otherwise instead of Likewise' so he can maximise his car power instead of focusing on fuel saving which not much can be done. Well i shall not comment much on his car as till now we dunnoe wht car he owns. :)
