jus put it at RUN forever. nothing will take place.

to turn off the fuel knob is up to individual. some people believe there is no need to do so. some people off the knob because they are afraid that people will open their trottle n overflow the carb. some have their carb modify and scare overflow as well.

ok. u mention when the person hand over to you, it is ok right. ok. when he hand over to u, the bike is most probably warm that why it is easy to start. however u have trouble starting ur bike the next morning right? since u park there overnight, i believe ur bike is now cold. hence u might need to use ur choke. *using of choke does not harm ur bike. many sp riders do use choke. pull ur choke. let it warm up awhile push it back. there it go. not only this, u might wan to consider a full service. change a spark plug. maybe it will be easlier. slowly slowly calm down. sometime kick too many time ur carb also will overflow one. ( turn off ur key. put side stand. take out a stick of cigg. smoke and look at ur bike after everything try kicking start again)

Actually, is the main purpose of choke just to start the engine when it's cold? How does it work specifically?

And why do people say pulling the choke might spoil the bike?
