Honda C70

hi bros out there.i'm interested in getting de old school honda cub C70.but i'm concerned abt de speed.read somewhere dat it can go max only abt 70km/hr.but i ever saw on de rd dis bike went like more den 90km/h.

so wat was possible done to de bike to go dat fast?i mean its not dat fast la...but if 90km/h den its more acceptable.i need to travel abt 60km daily n if 70 is de max den can sleep liao.

 

any advice?

Well, my concern is sometimes you need speed to get you out of dangerous situation and given the distance you ride daily, I dun think it is wise to get such a old bike.

Old school, but yet modern got the usual Vespas.

Honda Cub C70 is really, old, old school...

i tink vespa is less safe den de cub.vespa has such small wheels, n de weight is not balance.i rode vespa b4.if u happen to jam brake...u will fishtail like no tomrw.

after riding small bikes for few yrs, i begin to appreciate the lack of speed of de bikes.cos if i ride big bikes n they can go fast...i will sure ride fast n sometimes it can b dangerous.now my bike can go dat fast...so i ride slowly n hv more time to react to other drivers or motorcyclists.

I got one when i was working for Nakatani at PSA in 1990:thumb:

The c70 is really solid in terms of reliabilty even though its very old, ram the engine whilst riding alot and the bike never gives up on me......................................not really-----one time-----the bike starter burnt out and i can't start the bike......no matter how kick start or jump start.

 

Change to a new cdi and everything OK:cheeky:

 

Anyway i trade it in for a new honda EX5 after using it for 6mths:P

to spped more then change rear sprocket to 33"

mine is 36"

 

well if it roars loud means not the engine but the old stupid fairing and cowling

vibrates like disco

 

good engine

 

only common problem is

oil seal leaks at 15,000km intervals

Not much 2nd hand c70s in shops nowadays maybe due to old conditions and age...(most retire to scrapyard)

 

Even you can find one, i don't think you like the outer appearance of the bike and engine condition............Test it first.

 

In tanglin halt road if i am not mistaken there is a full mod c70(I work near there)

can b done la.now got a few of them running ard at more den 90.jus hv to do some adjustments.but i don need de bike to go flying la.jus ard 80-90 would b gd.

The bike is so light, wheels so thin, brakes so weak... how to brake in time if going at 80-90km/hr?
