Change to a better aftermarket fork spring. Friom my experience, the fork spring is a little to soft. To my liking that is. But if too hard, your ride won't be comfortable.

I understand what you need, that is to have the fork rebound as little as possible. Change to aftermarket fork spring, may set you back above $300 for a good one that it.

rebound that is set too slow will cause the suspension to "pack down" on rapid bumps, eventually causing the suspension to bottom out. rebound set too fast will result in a "top out" "TUCK" sound (metal to metal) which may result in internal damage.

was wondering.. for running in of new bike y must avoid expressway? read it somewhr in d forum. cos in s'pore even if wana get dat 500km mileage if "do it" on d streets will take weeks.. heh :cheeky:

Just ride normally, going though the gears at different revs. Lugging along at 80km/h all day long in 6th gear is not going to do the bike much good. Of course, as many MINERAL oil changes during the first 2000km will do much good.

Alternatively you can do the hard run in method.

mean when me carrying a heavy pillion, my front header tend to bang to those pointed hump... heart pain siah...!!!

There are a few suggestion here withr egards to your 'problem' above. My answer to yours is...if your fork oil has never been change before..its time. If your fork has jsut been service and with new fork oil...the cc level is insufficient. Make sure the mech put the right amount and use good brande oil.

hi!

me wanna asked wat can be done to 'UP' my header??

i mean when me carrying a heavy pillion, my front header tend to bang to those pointed hump... heart pain siah...!!!

im not sure hw to rectify this, maybe got to do with suspension or anything...

those who ever encounter this type of problem maybe can give my the solutions...

thanks...

You mean raise the ride height of you bike so it would not scrap your exhaust header?

I had the same problem as you everytime I go through a hump and scrap my header my heart will pop out and almost had a heart attack. Everytime I come to a hump I'll go very very slow even to almost coming to a stop. But the humps in Singapore are not build equal some short, so high and pointy, so big and fat.

I was told by some guys to put a riser on the rear suspension, but it still does not solve my problem. Furthermore it'll create another set of problems too.

I sent my rear suspension for rebuild at Bikelab and told them my requirement. They are very professional in their job. They had the rear suspension stripped, change the oil, re-gas, change the internal seals and reassembled. One of the temporary cheaper alternative and lighter on your pocket.

When I ride alone I'll put it to the lowest when I ride with my pillion I set it to the hardest. The problem had been resolved for now.

Hi all,

I'm facing tat very same problem; jus tat if i continue i get 1 freaking loud CLARK and the 2nd gear engages. I cant seem to engage 2nd->3rd w/o tat clark sound.

asked mechanic. he said could be due to friction plates worn out. anyone knows?

Thks.

Hi all,

Still tagging on to Mr.Big's query...

By all your replies, can kinda say my bike nothing really wrong... other than technique perhaps. ha. need more practice on that.

BUT want to ask what noticeable improvement(s) are there IF the friction plates or clutch plates are changed. My bike ard 3yrs old liao... taken over from someone. dunnoe the history of maintanence, etc.

Ths is very normal lah...if clutch plates wear..it's hard to change gears. Using thicker eo does help :)

Hi anyone experience when high rev on the move, does your right foot feels a great vibration? left foot nothing, but my right side vibrate too great, very uncomfortable..anyone knows wat's the cause? :giddy:

yep, i feel the same on mine.. especially rpm over 6/7k, lower rpm is just smooth, but only upon high rev, right foot-peg vibrates, (*i wore boots, not slippers though)

i'll stop my workshop next week and check the screws or footpeg itself.
