if piston oil ring slightly worn is it expensive to replace it?

no need to ovverhaul or anything like that ryte?

cos for my last serviceing @ unique i also saw e.o at the spark plug but the mech did not say anything so i just dismiss it.

Usually when you change piston rings, it means a 1-size up. So, you'll also need to bore the cylinders. Therefore, it'll cost quite a lot to refurbish all the 4 cylinders. Also, from my experience, you had better find a good and reputable workshop with excellent experience. Otherwise, after 6 to 9 months of your overhaul, the engine will koyak again and you'll start to lose power with blue smoke from the exhaust.

This was what had happened to me after I overhauled my 2-stroke engine the last time. It only lasted for about 6 months before the engine's condition got very rough again. You can also tell when the idling rpm is very unstable, despite carburettor wash, new spark plug and new air filter, etc.

Acceleration power is not important than a good perfect braking system to prevent an accident.

Piston ring comes in a set of three normally for a single piston itself and its affordable lah. But the thing here is that you are having a four cylinder engine and its better to have the full complete set for all four to be change..because of compression per cyclinder reason. Its okay if you just one to do just one but the cost of labour is the same as the middle block has to come off. If this is the case..you would likely like to change the cam chain and also corn rof needle bearing top side and down. Now...its $$$$s. But the bike would be siok siok lah and likely you have to do a "run in" again. Cosider a mid nd overhaul...and you might as well do top end also....LOL!

Anyway...your caase is serious very minor...as long as you do not have continous white smoke coming out from your exhaust like those 2-stroker with too much 2T in their fuel premix.

Stupid Hurts!.:giddy:Speed doesn't kill, mistakes does :faint:

BEER!...it's cheaper than fuel now! DRINK!..DON'T RIDE!

dun buy too high watts.. 35W is enough..

higher wattage will "eat" your batt, rectifier cannot replenish enough then the bulb consume..

and there goes your batt and rectifier in long term..
