miniral oil, we usually use only when running in...

normal oil, we use it after running in, all the way....no more of using mineral oil...

when u reach 1000km, u should already be using engine/4t/normal oil...

In the RIDERS' veins there are drops of DIONYSIAN Madness,

yo dzal, tht depends on how he do the run-in. Using the old manufacturer methods, it oil change after every 1000km until 3000km, using mineral oil.

 

The hard run-in type that some ppl adopt now adays follows different methods.

one way or another, he have to decide what he wants... the olden way or the new generation way.. cannot half way thru then he decides to go for the other way...

so far are there any aftermarket tank bra for gsr400??

 

and can the rear signal light and number plate be easily removed?? lets say i wan to go for track session

i'm a bit confused right now

 

Normal running in >>> Travel at below 80km/h & change 4T for every 1000KM for the 1st 3000km... After 3000km then can speed above 80km/h... correct me if im wrong

 

Hard running in >>> Travel at below 80km/h but at times can speed up above 80 km/h... This one i really dont know about the 4T or whatsoever...

 

I just heard normal running will make the engine smooth while hard running in will improve the performance...

 

Can someone help me to diffrentiate the both method in terms of Oil changing, speed limit, advantage & disadvantage...

 

I read about tis at the previous pages but still confused...

Guys, read your manual...

 

Here's wat I did for mine..

 

Hard break-in within the first 37km:

Change oil immediately.

 

Follow manual run in. Change oil every 800km with mineral oil & new filter.

First 800km, keep below 5.5K RPM

Next 800km, keep below 10.5K RPM

Final 800km, keep below 12.5K RPM

 

After 2437km, change to synthetic oil and off you go on your spanking new bike.

Take note that while doing the normal running in is not ride at slow speed and maintaining it there. Rather, let it run through the rev range. For example, if you doing the first 800km and restricted up to 5.5K RPM, as you travel, rev up from low RPM to ard 5K RPM and let it engine brake before doing it again. Sort of let it leapfrog. Do this when its safe on the road to do so, not on busy expressways when suddenly slowing down can ask a car to smack you in the back.

 

Disclaimer: It is up to individual to plan his/her own run-in. There's no right way. It is also individual's own risk. I know what I'm doing and what kind of s**t I can get into. This is purely my experience. So dun flame me if yours differ.

haizz... i was filtering from clementi ave 6 into the commonwealth ave west (?) when i was about to stop, i turned to check traffic and saw u... piang suddenly dunno y become gan jiong (anxious) spider... then sh*t handle bar locked with too much lean over the left... goned... :cry: gena the tail board pi cha... haiz...

kena tail board?? the tail board kena the curb??? shouldn't the handlebar+the frame slider+rear footpeg prevent the tail board frm kissing the floor?
