Wow, happening! This thread is getting lively again.

Hmm, I might beg to differ bout the LED. I've been using T10 LED for about a year plus, then again, it could be unique.

@Izzit: It could be that the fuse has blown.

Open your right side cover of the bike, there is a fuse box with labels ranging from ignition and others. Open up and the fuse are placed corresponding to the label on the box.

The one for the the ignition is a blue 15A fuse, take it out and inspect it for damages. To replace, head down to any bike shop and ask for a fuse, it should not cost more than $0.50. If you wanna get the original fuse, prepare to pay bout $5 from KS motors. Hopefully is not too late!

Oh! Count me in for both the DIY and the trip up north!

Hmm...thinking of getting an XTRE too...

Can't go wrong with TREs....I am enjoying super smooth rides at all gear hahah. I did not get XTRE juz because need to cut wires. I do not like.

Have you check the main fuse? 30A...its located next to the battery, covered with clear plastic. Could that be the one that is blown?

Most bikeshops sell them. I saw a few at Motoworld. If not wrong, 2 normal bulbs white colour 4000k is about $15. You can go and check it out. Another alternative is to go to Autobacs I'm sure they have a lot of T10 bulbs.

Sim lim tower has some good T10 blubs those that last quite a while... i've had the same problem with my normal cheap T10... sim lim tower(not square) - 1st floor got those multi directional T10 bulb ... but be warned they are very bright... $10 each bulb ... do test b4 buying.

Ya the black box. You should be able to open it. Check your Ignition fuse and other fuses.

I saw this T10 CMO, maybe you guys are interested:

by the way, i just bought bandanas from him last night, and chat for around 1.5 hours. Given me a lot of information on his products and riding experiences.

I got bad experience with LED T10 bulbs. Sticking to normal bulbs...am happy...hahah

Hmm, where did you get yours, Razi? For how much?

There is a spare 30A fuse in the plastic cover too. Check your wiring and gadgets, something may be shorted.

Oh, bout the phone mounts. There are several design to choose from, if you guys are really interested, I'll confirm the total amount and price with the supplier.

Hahahha.....run Forest run! I bought mine at MW. Costs $280. At present following manual...all gears mapped to Gear 6. So far petrol consumption is per normal. Will monitor 2 more top-ups to confirm this.

I just got T10 from LAB, cost me only $0.5 per piece, safe to use since it is kind of cheap...?

btw, you guys normally change the light bulbs by yourselves?

Interesting. Hmm, that'll be much more expensive than X-TRE, which brand is it? From what I gather, seems like Gear 6 is for touring, Gear 5 for street riding and Gear 4 for torque. so probably you'll save as much or even more fuel.

@jojo: Just try it, but probably it'll blow soon but you never know til you try it!

Its simple to change it yourself, so why not? :D

Nah will only play with Gear 5 and 6 mapping. Will not touch Gear 4...else the "jerk" will appear. Gear 5 torque is already very good. Sticking to 6 as the manual said so. Will only set to Gear 5 mapping if someone piss me off.

This is what was said for TRE :-

Why choosing Gear 6 mapping - "In practice, you should choose a 15K ohm resistor for the 600 cc and 750 cc gixxers. Why? First, because that's what thousands of riders before you have done, and it works."

Why choose Gear 5 mapping - "For the GSXR-1000, use a 6800 ohm, 1/2W or 1/4W resistor (5th gear resistance) because that will overcome the top speed limiter."

If you are doing it for a 400cc,it will make a little bit of difference compared to a 600cc even with after market pipes on..aniwaes it cost around 80 bucks to go for a TEKA..

oh ok mine is 400cc.. thanks for ur information bro!! btw wat brand of battery are u using bro cos mine going 2yr already..

Thanks for advice on the bulbs. I might get the normal white bulb and attend the DIY. Hopefully I am free that day, no raya outings..

Anyway, based on razi review, ATRE shud be a good upgrade for our bikes? I also have that retarded jerking acceleration on my bike. Hmm.. $$ haha..

Current ride - Gilera ST200 (April 2011-present)

Previous rides - Suzuki GSR 400 (31 March 2008 - 2011)

Assumption is mother of all all ****-ups! :cheers :-P

Razi, are you using Gipro with ATRE?

@furious: Probably not, TREs don't improve the low end power of the lower gears but, rather fools the ECU to think that the gears are always in 4th, 5th or 6th gear (as stated by the mapping) thus eliminating the need to retard ignition timing at lower gears. The results? Would be to improve throttle response from gear 1 to 3 (means you can zoom out of the traffic faster than ever before).

Suzuki retards the throttle opening power at lower gears to reduce chances of accidents due to inexpert handling by inexperienced riders (Accidental wheelies, anyone?) Also, limits the top speed of the bike for street usage.

I guess your problem would be your idling, just adjust it to the recommended settings of 1.1k to 1.3k RPM. I have not much of a problem going at 13 Km/h at gear 2. Also, half clutch and gear down if you have to go at low speeds. Clutch control is quite important.

@rex: Either AFAM or ISA is alright. On the first page of this thread, it is mentioned that GSR 400 uses chain size of 520 as stock. Perhaps either 520 or 525 will be fine. Think sprocket size will actually affect the gearing ratio.

@googly: Probably the jerky acceleration is due to the TPS, just needed some minor adjustments? The DIY would be a good time. :D

mine already 1.1k -1.3k RPM. If I am not wrong last time when I ride S4 at low speed gear 1 or 2 it can still move slowly and smoothly. ( if I am Not worng ), well of cos with cluth control no problem
