Hi guys, to those already install scottoiler, I got few question regarding this system:-

1) When the engine is idling, will the oil drip on the chain?? or isit the oil will drip only when the bike is on the move? Cos when I read the manual, it say that it will drip but I wait for a long until I ramp the throttle and the oil start to drip but very slow...the manual says 1 or 2 drips /min is the best

2) After I totally wash my chain, can I just straight away ride and let the scottoiler do the lubrication?? or do I need to apply some on the chain first?

Need your valuable input....Thanks.

No, as long as engine is on, the oil will drip. If you wait there very long and can't see a single drop, you need turn the knob more- over half round, about 7 o'clock position, you should get one drop about every 1.5 minutes.

Yeah, its better to add some form of lubrication on the interior of the chain before you ride and after the chain is dry. Scottoiler is a type of dynamic oiler that helps to keep your chain well-oiled throughout your journey, not suited to replace the spray can when your chain is without any lubrication.

To be sure, you better check first. GSR can fit L18 R17 or S015. GSXR also got many models and year. Not all can fit If not wrong.

Bros, I wanted your opinion on my battery. Basically the last few days the battery charge went down very low and found it difficult to start the bike. When I rev the engine to 3-4k rpm the voltage actually goes down on my voltmeter (around 11.5V). One of the mechanic says that it might be a problem with the magnetic coil (alternator I suppose). Has any of you face something similar, if so where did you get it fixed and approximately how much would it cost?

You might want to ask cyrix about the electrical problem. He faced this type of problem before.

Don't mind my input cause this sounds familiar. Faced with this problem before, could be the rectifier. Was the voltage normal when you start your bike cold? However the voltage dropped after some time while your bike is running?

Cyrix had this problem before me which i used it to based my problem on, and it's because the rectifier had a crack that enlarges after it was heated thus the loss of electrical power and drop in voltage. Had to replace with a new one bought from KS motors for 180 bucks!

On another note, any of our guys hanging out at holland v just awhile back?

I took over your pipes buddy! I think the Malay Uncle is the guys father la. The rider is a young chap bout 23~25 yrs old. Hahaha!

Talking bout pipes, i kena TP road block yesterday afternoon at the turf club U-turn towards BKE(Johor). I got shock balls cos i removed the silencer. ****** i thought to myself.

The TP officer look at my pipe, say ,'you remove your silencer ah?'. Then he look at me ask me where i'm going. I'm a MOTGMOTT (Most Of The Gear Most Of The Time) advocate, so i was clad in my gloves, full face helmet and riding jacket (as per my sig below), so i instantly thought of saying i'm going Melaka for a short trip, hoping it would sound believable.

Hopefully by saying that, i hope the officer give leniency la.

Fortunately for me, it did. He just gave me warning and told me to put it back when i return from my trip. FUUHHHHH!!!!! Selamat duit aku! I heard the fine is $700 right?

Lesson learnt. Tommorow the silencers are back ON!

Based on the Leo Vince Carbon exhaust, its HOT/Warm to the touch, but wont scald or burn you. Logic and common sense will dictate that once you put your hand, or any part of your body for that matter, on the exhaust and feel the heat, u wont go as far as putting yourself there for 10 mins. hahahha. I've touch someone's Yoshi pipe before immediately after his ride.

Its hot, yes; but not hot enough to fry an egg. :D

Lol! Peeps in holland v are cultured? Hmm, been hanging round Holland v since last month onwards as my lady stays there so...I can only reach to one conclusion. I'm cultured!! Hahaha. Met her from the Singaporebikes.com roadshow @Scape, so gotta say that I'm a pretty lucky guy! Lol!

Seriously, because of events like this. You just gotta stop what you're doing and think, what has the world comes to?

Nah, not much DIY but got new projects coming up after I've settled problems with my bike. Pretty sad story though. Anybody whose child needs a tutor? Haha!

Haha so the new owner sold the pipe away? Wasted man! I guess now you know my name all as the certain should have my particulars. you took out the silencers? It was too deafening for me but I sure did have fun dragging the bike up and down airline road without the silencers!

I'm not sure if I can meet the new owner of my bike. Just want to clarify one thing with the bike..

Bingo... looks like I am not the only one who faced the rectifier crack problem.

Better to go down to another bike shop for second opinion. I was first quoted by the bike mech who didn't even inspect my bike and straight away confirm it's the coil problem... I am not convinced so I head down to another bike shop which really inspect my bike thoroughly... in the end they found a crack on the rectifier which only can be seen when it is hot. Moral of the story... dun let the bike shop chop you. As a paying customer, you must insist that they are 100% sure of the problem is pinpoint before you change any parts.
