Hi mmkbad,

When I first install LV pipe with the DB killer still on, i don't have these symptoms....it is only after I took out the db killer.....BTW can this "backfire" cause any damage to the engine or spark plug??:(

With my DB killer on or off, i've never experienced a backfire before. I'm on LV carbon exhausts, with stock midpipe and a K&N air filter. I'm not sure if your setup is different and may be the cause of the backfire.

Like what bro ivikarazi mentioned, best send the bike for tuning if i were you. i find the spontaneous 'popping' sound irritating anyway.

If you really worried, do send the bike for FI tuning. It will help in lessen the situation and might also makes the bike run smoother and better. Mine was tuned and backfire only occurs occasionally when I close the throttle after I twist the throttle more than required. I have set it such a way that the Air-to-Fuel mixture to be rich as I need to push the bike for more pickup.

Backfire is bad for the engine.

Actually mine also occurs occasionally, like you say during the "close throttle" thing.....btw FI tuning is like "dyno" the bike isit? Any workshop can do it??

Yes via dyno is one way. They need to tune it via direct ECU or piggyback method. So if piggyback, you will need to purchase PCIII or ICON II or Rapid.

Hi hilfiger,

ya i bought it last year march 2010:)

Oh...think now can't get anymore new units of GSR400 already.

Btw, just like to hear fr the experienced riders here, I was told suzuki bikes hard to find spare parts for it and the parts are expensive. Is it also true for GSR? Any advice will be appreciated...

Chop la 11k... try to get from people better. shops usually chop cos gsr demand quite high these days, and rising COE also.
