Btw, anyone of u adjusted the rear damping force, the one where u need to use a flathead screwdriver at the bottom of the rear suspension? If turn clockwise fully is stiffest right? Standard setting is it turn 1 round (360 degrees) anti-clockwise from stiffest position? Dun dare to try leh...

Adjusting the rear damping (not spring pre-load) is shown in step 6 of this link:

http://wikiwiki.jp/gsr/?%A5%E1%A5%F3%A5%C6%A5%CA%A5%F3%A5%B9#z8c94f3e

Anyone tried adjusting it?

It is pretty bright. Definitely brighter than the stock for sure. It has 36 or 48 LEDs pointing 360degrees. Would strongly recommend using it if not for my bike's ABS issue.....

Anyone interested in getting it? Its very bright for sure. We can have a viewing session at Simpang Bedok if anyone is interested.

Hi guys, my Headlamp spoil where to get at a cheaper price?

By headlamp spoil u mean the entire headlamp assembly spoil or just the bulb blown?

I'm using Osram nightbreaker plus. Single bulb costs me $25. Bought of from a mass order in garage sales section.

If the entire headlamp is spoilt, i recall a forumer bought a replacement headlamp for $280 along lembu road. cant remember exact shop name though.

Yup, when both blink together means in reserve. No reserve switch for our bike. No choke either. Our bikes got auto fast idle for cold starts.

Yea. To me, braking system and tyres always come first when safety is concerned. That's why looking for better pads now. So any sign of EBC pads damaging the rotors?

I only changed for 4 days, so i cant comment on whether it will damage the rotor or not. Check back with me in the next 4 months. :D

Okie dokie....

Btw, "fast idling" might be too advanced for newbie, hehe.... Simple explanation is GSR is a fuel injection bike and have NO choke....

Mine is running at 81 deg when on constant highway riding in the day.

However, during serious jam, will heat up till 97 deg before the cooling fan kick in.

I am using waterwetter for the coolant 

With the assistance of the fan, my bike temp wouldn't go beyond 98. So its normal. Must use coolant. Go google the function of coolant. It could prevent yr radiator from rusty too...

If im not mistaken, my fan kick in when the temp above 96. try observe yr bike again....WW has good reviews

Hi all,

Does anyone use 10w50 engine oil??

How does it fair as compared to 10w40 EO??

Thanks in advance for your kind inputs

As a rule of thumb, 50 rating is a thicker grade of oil and hence for older bike with wear and tear.... New engine not encourage to use high viscocity oil as the engine will be slugglish and FC will be affected

Cool, btw any knows how to adjust the clutch cable and do we need to top up radiator water?

Everything seems so fairings up, can't find the clutch cable running to where, must take off the fairing is it? for radiator water to.

Clutch cable which leads to the engine side is covered by a fake plastic engine cover on the left of the bike (for GSR400. need to remove it to access the cable. if i'm not wrong, u also need to lift up the tank to access the cable to adjust the clutch.

I suggest u read up on the service manual. I believe i have posted the link 1~2 pages back. Or use the search function.

Or, better yet, come to the meetup at KKFC later. There we can answer u all the qns u may have and point to u where and what etc.

Better than reading a wall of text here and still end up not knowing what we talking about.

Dun be shy to come down, most of us are friendly folk. Just be prepared to get 'POISONED' only. :D
