Non-disclosure is not a reasonable clause here. Even if the company have issued a liability waiver, this kind of damage is beyond what people would call "reasonable". If the goods were to be in pristine condition and then let it off to the consumer, but having minor damage afterwards, the company will be safe from claims. However, major damage such as this will requires the "professionals" to re-evaluate the condition of the goods and thus the purchaser will be able to claim damages.

Just force the shop to do something about it.

That's not a clause; it is just not a requirement/duty for seller to tell you everything. Of course if you want to make a claim against them, they is so many for you to proof. But first of all, this is not a brand new bike so not so perfect condition is expected. and if the court held that the overall condition of the bike is of satisfactory condition, you will be wasting your time. Best is still hv a compromise with the seller

Lol no la i am just saying if there is something wrong with the product in the first place, it's only the right thing to let the customer know before he purchase. Just like if you go to a second hand electrical store, the store keeper will let you know ok this radio antenna is bad so if you still wanna go ahead and buy it it's up to you la. At least your customer knows. Not until he buy then go home then see that the antenna is bad. If the customer is an electric expert and he finds out before he purchase then ok la, but how many of us are expert in that thing we buy?

It's just ethics I feel

He quoted me 15800 otr. But to my knowledge, i know gsr400 is no longer in production? How come most shop i go to, they told me no more production n never mention any 2011 model. But is dere any 2011 model?

There's a 2011 model of the GSR 400 as seen here,

http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_gsr_400_2011.php

GSR 400 is still in production and $15,800 was way cheaper than what I've gotten mine 2 years back. What is the machine price? Yen is currently quite high and for parallel importers to bring in, the cost would be pretty high too.

Sounds quite suspicious.

That, is where you gotten wrong. For anything on sale, specifications must be given and for used items, it is a requirement for the seller to inform the buyer of any defects and capabilities. If not, that would be a negligent of duty by the seller, especially when it is done by a professional.

The condition of the bike is not satisfactory, stemming from a non-disclosure of a defect that causes other problems to surface. This is not reasonable. It would be called a scam for sellers to promote their items with "hidden" factors. For a proper sale to occur, the seller must not mislead the buyer in any ways or to hide certain information pertaining to the item.

Apparently they say they can do nothing about the rusty tank. ): is there anywhere I can do like a full health checkup for my bike see how's the condition and all?

Insist for a change. If not, you could try heading down to Planet Motors to see what Ah chong can do about it.

Riding style? Perhaps, your bike is running too rich?

Die off? Battery connection loose?

Check your connection and tighten it as necessary. Try stock plugs, stock plugs are best for our bike.

Once, about more than 2 years ago. I went to speedway to check out a 2nd hand sliver GSR 400. The boss told me that it was in good condition with low mileage, and gonna sell me for cheap. However, when I test-ride it, I felt it was jerky, heavy vibrations throughout the bike and certain clanking sound in the gears. Not only that, the slider and frame on the left have some signs of skidding, especially the slider which was almost sheared into half.

I asked the salesperson, he told me that the previous owner "dropped" the bike even though before, he said that the bike has no problems. He also told me he'll throw in loads of goodies in addition to the 8k OTR he was offering. He was really slick and smiling all over. He seems very suspicious, and was giving me free "service packages" when I said I will consider before getting back to him.

I'll never go back to that shop.

There should not be any drastic changes to the bike's FC performance. From the looks of it, something went wrong. Please do take a look at your spark plugs. It maybe running too hot and causes the plug cables to malfunction or melt. (Hopefully not the case) By right Iridium should burn more efficiently than stock plugs thus giving better FC. The usual practice is if you are using Iridium plugs, PLEASE get performance spark plug cables. Iridium draws more current than normal spark plugs.

Another way is to set the bike to Dealer Mode to see what error codes it will give. This in turn will show what/which sensors on the bike is disconnected or malfunctioned. (Most likely the case, the bike will run at default settings if it detects that Bike sensor malfunction.)

Check the engine block for any leaks as this could be one of the causes for bad FC. (Usually gasket gone, since its under 80k mileage i doubt so)

Can you also indicate your Sprokets' front and back? The stock if not wrong is 14T (front) 47T (back). This got nothing to do with the bike dying off, but it has got everything to do with FC. I find changing to 15T (front) and 47T (back) giving lesser speedo error, closer to 0% error.

How do i check dealer mode? Must i go to the workshop or i can check myself?

Dealer mode instructions.....if you dare to do heheheheh

http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=174828

wah...my fc also 200km then the bar blink leh...something wrong with mine too? But i'm using iridium and leovince...

This depends also....Example, If your workplace is in Bedok and you stay in Bedok, you will get high Fuel Consumption. You will/might get better FC if your workplace is further away.

Please note, petrol icon blinks means warning. petrol icon and fuel bar icon blinks means hitting reserves having 1 - 2 liters left in the tank. If you keep pushing your luck until no more fuel in the tank (tank runs dry), always. Prepare money, one day will need to replace fuel pump. Not referring to you hor...you as a general.

Mine fully stock, also same, 200km bar start to blink already. but when i go petrol station to pump, only 12 to 13 litres full tank already. I know there are many possibilities as to why my FC so lousy, but can anyone name me some common causes so that i may be able to start troubleshooting from somewhere?
