Mine fully stock, also same, 200km bar start to blink already. but when i go petrol station to pump, only 12 to 13 litres full tank already. I know there are many possibilities as to why my FC so lousy, but can anyone name me some common causes so that i may be able to start troubleshooting from somewhere?

U ride with your H&B panniers? That might drop your FC. Increased weight and and poor aerodynamics if u ride with your boxes 24/7. When i used to ride with my panniers on, my FC could drop to 200km before the bar starts to blink and it goes into reserve at 240.

Now, without my boxes, its 240km before my bar starts to blink and 280km before it hits reserve.

Quick Question to GSR Peeps here.

I would like to know, the reserve indicator for the GSR is the "Blinking Petrol Icon" or the "Last Fuel Bar Blinking" ?

My bike full tank only moves up till 210km at max. is that considered bad FC?

Speedway bro

Personal experience with that shop...

As we all understand that there is early settlement charge if you wanna pay fully ur bike or sell to someone else who is not taking a loan from them.

But the interesting thing is they can tell you a $ figure but u ask them to calculate, they cannot explain the formula behind it and say. "COMPUTER WILL CALCULATE ONE"...

Please note, petrol icon blinks means warning. petrol icon and fuel bar icon blinks means hitting reserves having 1 - 2 liters left in the tank. If you keep pushing your luck until no more fuel in the tank (tank runs dry), always. Prepare money, one day will need to replace fuel pump. Not referring to you hor...you as a general.

:thumb:

Agree with ya bro. Not that I have replaced my pump, but spoke to some other rider and noted that fuel pump uses the fuel surrounding it as "coolant". Thereafter, always kept my tank more than half full. Leceh to always go pump, but better that and a healthy fuel pump than running tank dry and leaving fuel pump to cook. :)

The panniers can affect that much? Previous owner told me FC will be around 20 ~ 22, which i absolutely believed so. But once i took over the bike i have been using the panniers. All along my FC is 17 ~ 18, occasionally 16+. Really like sh*t. Was ur FC like that too?

But i have no choice sia... 1 top box not enough for my day to day usage. Top box with 2 e21 panniers also not good because of the dimensions. I have to stick to my fat panniers.

Actually GSR 400 no reserve tank, it's just one container.

The fuel icon blinking means low on petrol.

The fuel icon blinking + last petrol bar means, please pump now or we need to start pushing soon. (About 2-3 liters i reckon)

For me, not too bad, my light only blink around 270 -280. Totally empty will run about 340 - 350.

Only got 1 top box, and am 90 kg (me no tthe box), my box normally carry rain coat and laptop only.

The previous owner may be staying in Changi, works in Tuas and travel to work at 5am.

210km vs 270km...

The difference is quite huge. I don't have any box or carry any stuff around....

Just a heads up to everyone... last fri i went to unqiue motor at toh guan. i wanted to do a oil changed and oil filter. By right they did provide us additional about 200ml for us after changing the oil filter. After they pour in the 3 bottle of engine oil into my engine they did not add any additional 200ml of oil for me that they should provide. I was monitoring the whole process, and i asked... Boss you did not add the 200ml oil for me. he said yes and he asked his worker did you add for him? the worker said yes dont worry. I was like so helpless, they just never add it. What can i do? suck it up? 2 person say yes i say no. its like... damn it. I will never go unique motor again for sure.

happened to me too.

you try to put ur bike upright, if the window on the right side of bike show oil level between "H" and "L". should be fine, if not, go for another oil change perhaps? haha.

For me, yes, when i was using the panniers it did affect my FC alot. why not u try not using the panniers for several full tanks of petrol to see if there is a difference.

eh? i always change my oil at unique toh guan. So far ok for me. From what i know, they go to the back of their shop and add in additional 200ml from used already opened bottle of engine oil.

How i know? I've seen it before with my own eyes.

I've seen them pouring the oil into the oil filling container so i have no doubt they really fill up 3.2L of engine oil into my machine.

Now, i'm not defending Unique Motors nor am i affiliated to them in any way. Just sharing my views as another paying customer.

Then again, i've heard very negative reviews about that shop and also very positive reviews.

But, based on my personal experience, they are ok.

The difference is quite huge. I don't have any box or carry any stuff around....

Initially was 20-21, then went for servicing, changed oil, changed oil filter, lubricated abit of chain.... then soon after went for a gsr meetup (Thanks Lex!) and tuned a bit more... so now okay avg 22-24 depending on how i ride.. However, don't know is it place bo effect, but i find that my fc is better when i travel a lot of high speed...

Keeping the tires up to pressure does help with FC. Actually weekly maintenance will prolong any bike's usage. It is the best habit to pick up.

Don't forget to do some aesthetics polishing! Haha!

Unique is pretty transparent with the stuffs they do. As like what mmkbad have mentioned, they do top up the last 200ml in addition to the 3 bottles you chosen. They do decent work for the most part, basic maintenance that is. Though, I admit that they aren't good for some stuffs and bundle up stuffs which doesn't seems to serve any purpose but for you to spend more.

Will be organizing another DIY (I'll ask Bone about this) cause I need to clean Air Filter too!

I'm a Tutor! Proud to be one!

erm i dont have stand for my bike to stand upright so i cant see clearly see the level. but i know my bike if there's not enough engine oil my right side of my bike my leg can feel kinda warm and kinda hot feelings while riding (80km/90km).

But lucky i did have about half a bottle of engine oil so i topped up myself, after that go for a ride at the same speed again. The hot and warm feeling had gone. Sorry not i criticise that bike shop just that i'm the unlucky one that got smoke by them.

"Tuned a bit more" meaning what kind of tuning did u do?

My chain getting dirty. Do u guys degrease and clean the chain and relube again as part of regular maintenance?

How do go abt doing it? Use kerosene and brush? Or any special products? Wonder if there's any efficient way of doing it, cos our bike got no main stand so it's quite tough to rotate wheel also. :(

Any suggestions?
