TO MY FREN WHOSE HAVING THE FLUCTUATING RPM READING:

Erm bro, i ever once encountered this and got my bike stalled in the middle of Mandai Rd at 2am.

haha but anyways perhaps wat is wrong is the RECTIFIER. coz it has a rubber backing, and the placement is near the engine compartment... it can be easily be melted. check it out. wat i did was to put an extention to my rectifier so it creates an air space in btwn the rectifier n engine. =)

$176 from KS motors. Maybe higher if getting from Loois or Guan Hoe. Loois told me it'll exceed $200.

The regulator rectifier is a combined unit. It does the rectifying part as well the regulation part. It is part of a battery charging system. It gets a power feed, an AC power feed from the stator. Most of these regulator rectifiers and Stators are 3-Phase, for charging batteries, so there are three wires coming from the stator feeding into the regulator rectifier. Then the regulator rectifier “rectifies” it, and “regulates” the power to 14.5 volts and feeds a DC out to the battery. There are some single phase, regulator rectifiers as well that basically do the same thing. You have two wires coming from the stator, feeding into the regulator rectifier which is then connected up to the battery, so there is a DC output going to the battery.

No worries, man

My batt went dead suddenly this morning, do a push strt with the help of my fren, i ride to t.guan UM for a batt change.. but after changing of batt it seems dat my regulator was charging my bat very slowly n to a maximum of 13.8 volt.. shall i change my regulator? UM quote me the regulator for gsr is $245. Btw the $176 r u refering to the gsr regulator? Where is KS motors btw?

Yep, the regulator/rectifier. The black thingy.

Was your battery factory primed? Or did they prime it for you? This means they gotta put some bottles on top of the battery (The bottles contain Sulphuric acid which is needed for the battery to work) and wait for awhile before installing, if not, it should be factory primed. This could be a problem for older batteries which may not be as good as fresh ones.

Anyway, monitor your voltage. As long your voltage is holding at 13.5v to 14.5v. There's no need to worry. Give a few days.

KS Motors is right smack opposite of Regina. Take note of the Suzuki sign.

Not sure why the previous thread for the Ermax windscreen is not not valid anymore. I have posted a new thread for it. Here it is:

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/346223-GSR-Ermax-WindScreen?p=7405272#post7405272

As for the scotOiler, it depends how you fix it. Mine has it tucked in further front, so you cannot see the cable tie at all... In fact, most of my rider friends asked where is my scotoiler... it is hidden. Even the oil tube are hidden. :)

Yours is tied in the middle of your swingarm.

Another reason is because the dual injector serve as an extention to reach the chain so that is why I can tie it further front than yours. :)

Look at the above sale thread to see the last pic. Zoom in to the swing arm and spot where the cable tie is. :)

Bro how much is the batt change? my battery seems to be constant at 13.8, sometimes go up abit 14, but when idling sometimes drop to 13.2 does it mean regulator spoil or my batt spoil?

Hey guys,

Other than the Ermax windshield, any other shield that is high enough? The Ermax windscreen is not providing enough protection at 160 and above at NSH..

Look at this url:

Under the section "アッパーカウル"

In Singapore, so far we have seen GSR with

Puig : http://www.japan-webike.it/products/9497738.html. Check with regina.

Givi : Ask Razi for photos. He used to own one. Check with Mah motor.

Ermax : You should have seen before. Check with motoworld.

MRA : Check with motoworld.

As far as I know, all head cowl or windscreen for GSR are pretty low. Not enough to completely shield you from the wind blast head on.

Have you own the Ermax windscreen? Personally, I have tested speed >160km/h.... with that speed, you do not ride upright anymore. Reason being, the front wheel base will be light and you have to lean forward or else you will feel the front of your bike being lifted up.... that is dangerous.

With Ermax windscreen... when I lean forward with high speed... I can feel the wind being deflected from my helmet... you have to experiment on how low you need to lean down on your fuel tank.

I was riding at that speed too along NSH, and I had to bend so low that it was Hurting my shoulder badly.

How old is your battery? If it's pretty old and you gotta take some time to crank up your bike then it is time to change it. If the rectifier were to be gone case, the voltage will pretty much drop to around 11v - 12v

so lexane do u wan it?

Want what?

I own the Ermax windscreen.

There's 2 different type of Ermax windscreen. One that comes with side covers and the one that doesn't. The one that comes with side covers, seems to be to be more aerodynamic and I have no problems going up to 195km/h++ with the wind blast as I was doing what was mentioned above by Cyrix.
