Hi all GSR rider,

Can anyone advise me what to look out for when buying used gsr600?

I worry I will take over a problem bike.

For any used bike, you gotta watch out for the outlook of the bike. How well the owner take care of it.

 

Check for any signs of damage, any falls that might indicate on the sliders or crash bar. Broken fork seals, worn chain and sprocket, worn tyres, chipped off paintwork and dents.

 

Ask the owner for servicing history other than basic maintenance such as valve clearance (when mileage is pretty high enough for it), throttle body synchronisation, cleaning of fuel injectors, etc etc. See if the owner tells you about it if you were to ask about servicing history, check the mileage of the bike.

 

Get the engine started to watch out irregular noises during idling. Don't think the owner will allow you a test ride but do note of engine idling sound. Other than that, I'm not too sure what else to lookout for.

tot of changing mine plates and the spring .. Any idea rougly how.much? i was quoted $190

That's pretty reasonable though you should check the date first. Format should be weeks/year. Eg: 30/11

 

Or you wanna check out other tires like Metzler Z8, Michellin Pilot Road 2/3, Pirelli Angel ST, etc etc. Those are more expensive though
