Hi guys. Got a qns when I start my engine I accidentally removed the key from the ignition slot but the engine still running? Is it normal

Or is it the ignition switch is spoiled? Anyone can help

Tks bro. Any idea where can I order it from?

Try to set the bike to Dealer mode to see the error code. Seen this problem before. If you are not particular about this, then can just ignore it. Its the immobilizer system. To change, if it really affects the ECU, then need to change the ECUs, keys and the ignition switch it self. Not cheap, last time someone change it for about $1.2k. You can approach Loois Motorsports also for this as they have done it before.

bro tks so much for your advise. i bought the gsr400 from a 2nd hand bike shop. so im not sure how to set to dealer mode. the bike is running fine so far. no problem with the ECUs. so what u mean is that i Shouldn't be too bother by this right? but im just worry if travelling on higheay will the key fly off?

Anyway let bro Lex settle ur issue. I only concern is with the RFID tag embedded in the key and the socket. If the bike can start without the key then means you can keep the key when travelling. If the key is removed, it should kill the engine. I have seen first hand a GSR400 that you can ride without the key. I guess might be a damaged immobiliser. As long as you are comfortable with it, then no need to change since the bike is working fine. Will look bad with the cops who might think you stole the bike.

As for security wise, there are disc locks and alarms that you can put on the bike. Its quite a high cost if need to change the whole ECU. In the end, still your decision. Hopefully it is the keyhole issue. I am sure can change easily. Only problem is need to make new keys.

tks bro. i went to good luck locksmith at kelantan lane this morning the boss told me it might be the keyhole issue due to wear and tear. he also mention is quite common on suzuki and yamaha bike. is it true?

Hi guys, just got myself a 2nd hand GSR 400 recently and have been riding it for about 2 months. Everything is just awesome, I love riding this gorgeous bike! :thumb:

Just a quick question, it seems that the max rpm that this baby can go is 11 and I've managed to clocked top at 189km/h. Any idea if there is a rev limiter or anything? Recently rode up north and tested the bike once.

Try gear 5. I hit 201km/h on gear 5 but not good on a long run. On gear 6, I managed to hit 195km/h. Stock bike.

thanks to bro lexanez for checking on my bike last night and giving me some tips. : )

No worries. Have fun.

I don't know why despite changing to several types of mirrors, the right side always tend to vibrate crazily and the left side is fine.

Tried touching the stem of the mirrors while riding, right side vibrates like crazy but not the left.

Is it because of the throttle assembly?

Or any other facts?

Ok I will update my status here again soon if I can make it this Friday. So far I have nothing on. I am really looking forward to meeting all you GSR bros. This is my first heavy bike, so I have much to learn, compared to the easy old 2B days...
