One factor that affects the temperature is the positioning of the number plate. Sounds dumb but if the number plate is placed below the headlight it affects the air flow to the radiator therefore the temp will be higher.

hi,

can i join in the discussion...

yesterday just got my new black GSR400... :cheeky: :cheeky:

GSR400 is totalli a different breed of bike, to describe in one word: awesome..:thumb: :thumb:

doing running in now... err.. how fast you guys run to run in? i find it hard to maintain below 80 lei..

btw, do you all feel lots of hot air being emitted faster than s4... is it norm?:)

errr.. is there anyone with brouquet experience? will it work to improve consumption? can advise where to get and what is d price range...?

me cant survive without box, so, i install box.. not too bad looking as i thot it will be...

crash bar got mine @ $120.. somewhat similar to the one supersonic mentioned ($95 :( ).. anyway no regrets, besides protect, it makes the bike better looking...:thumb: :thumb:

surprisingly better handling than s4 may b coz rider position more towards the centre of bike (s4 too forward)..

cheers..:thumb: :thumb:

temp between 80 to 86 is quite norm. 90 abit high. as u r riding slower, temp will b higher. at traffic holdups oso will cause the temp to rise. for the 1st 300km, try to maintain below 5000 rpm. after that, 6000 rpm shd b ok. slowly increase the speed.

basket.

another criminal.

dun like that leh. in no time, mayb 1/3 of the GSR population got topcase already. :D

have no problems with overheating with my plate under the headlight.

will compare & contrast once i get sticker ones for the mudguard instead.

have just found out that speed cameras on overhead bridges can read my plate.

so far, a few of our guys have it that way; seem to have no problems.

anyway, where else? on the dash where the sides will stick out?

i rode around without my front license plate for a few weeks already. someone itchy hand peeled it off my bike.

damn itchy hands.

anyway i used to place my license plate on the fork guards. my bike temperature exceeded 97 degrees 4 times while i was riding from yishun to tampines. i paniced and thought my water pump had failed. drained out the coolant, replaced with new ones, also same.

till the double sided tape gave way and i decided to ride front plate-less, then my bike runs as per normal.

rien d'autre que le max.

was at parkway last night and i saw a GSR600 lying on the multi storey carpark.. mine was pushed down in the same carpark before also.. wanted to pull it up for the person but scared the owner comes back and i would be accused of pushing it down.. another worry is i dun have enough strength to push it up.. :x

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

H-pack is like a normal backpack bag just only u can fit in one helmet. If you dont want to put on top box then maybe you can try to get magnet tank bag. Rjay or Viper.... Rjay u can go to Regina then Viper u can try to get at 219. Then be ware that magnet bag will spoil your tank paint work.

Thanks for the info. Now i got some saving up to do. hahaha! Anw, how the magnet bag spoil the paint work? You scaring me liao...coz i'm using magnet bag. :giddy:

hi...

thks for all the tips man..:thumb: :thumb:

i think have to get used to the temperature... juz wonder if it can tahan long journey like to m'sia.. anyone went on long distance wif gsr b4..? got overheated not?

btw, i saw the underseat exhaust, looks like can get rusty one... anybody here painted it?

errr, is there anyone using knn filter, does it work (improve consumption, increase hp..)

for those thinking of putting box, in my opinion it is not too bad le haha.. it is definitely practical and convenience, rather than carry back pack or magnet tank.. if scared damage de look, go for stylo box like hepco and becker.. saw 1 BM with dat box, very nice...:thumb: :thumb:

anyway, if you r still looking for one, ah boy selling $45 for H pack and $65 for tank bag.. i got my H pack together with my ff helmet..

hey if year end got plan go long distant to Msia keep us posted le.. muz try long distance ride... so far only drive in...

Anw, how the magnet bag spoil the paint work?

i'm sure you know that the magnet bag works by attaching itself to the tank

with magnetic force. this same force that prevents your bag from flying off

during riding will also make it a bit difficult to remove when you've parked.

sliding the bag off is one way to remove the bag; it's also a way to scratch

the tank.

hi...

anyone went on long distance wif gsr b4..? got overheated not?

gsr4s have been to hatyai, penang, cameron highlands, fraser hill with no

problems really.

btw, i saw the underseat exhaust, looks like can get rusty one... anybody here painted it?

errr, is there anyone using knn filter, does it work (improve consumption, increase hp..)

using aftermarket filters will definitely increase air intake, though some say

the benefits of this are outweighed by the disadvantage of having a more

easily clogged filter, ?too much air?, & some other stuff.

what's known is that, with an aftermarket filter, you might want to send for a

retune to maximise the gain from it.

for those thinking of putting box, in my opinion it is not too bad le haha.. it is definitely practical and convenience, rather than carry back pack or magnet tank.. if scared damage de look, go for stylo box like hepco and becker.. saw 1 BM with dat box, very nice...:thumb: :thumb:
