thx bro stsoh for the heads up.. anyway, from all the pics, looks like there's at least 2 bikes that suffered the crack. normal riding shouldn't lead to that kind of stress fracture right? did the website u got the pics from mention any symptoms the riders noticed before failure, or even their riding style/habits?

anyway, touch wood, but say there's a major problem with the bike somewhere, leading to a recall. the 600s shouldn't have a problem because they're distributed by GH, but for the 400s, since they're PI, will looi's & all that do the same service?

these r 9 different cases tat can be found on the web, they believed there r many more of such incidents.

they r pending on suzuki investigations.

these happens during normal ride at low speed (40~60kph) on their countries road side curves, not running at high speed or wheelies.

for safety reason, it is better tat u do self-inspection for hairline crack.

it could be due to their climate temperature from extreme cold(-10 deg C) to hot(+35 deg C).

unlike sillypore topical climate with constant temp (26~33 deg C).

I agree about the temperature.

Was thinking about it last night.

Most of the reported cases are in Europe and currently its winter there.

I think we should be more ok.

Haben heard of a cracked frame due to normal riding.

Collisions yes, but that's when the bike is submitted to heavy force.

bingo.

ask ur hubby the nite before he found the batt flat, did he lock the handlebar?

for what that i noe he usually dun lock the handlebars....

i'll check with him tonite...

i did ask him whether he spin the key all the way in which will turn on the parking lights and which will turn on the pole lights and brake lights, he said that he did not...

mah mechanic also counldnt find anything wrong with the bike except for the flat batt & re-charge it.....

so im wondering whether gsr600 is a good bike....

but then again...im not the one riding it....

but there must be an issue somewhere, i mean, u dun really hear of other bikes there suffering from the temperature changes so seriously, and it happened during normal riding too.. something to do with the alloy construction? very interested to know the results of the investigation by suzuki, pls update if anyone comes across it, thx!!

mods done:

powerplant device, fuel injector venturis,

underseat cylindrical air filter, bassy stock cans,

super-sensitive in-built gyroscope, inertia-based accelerometer,

streamlined panniers (zero drag),

taped up wires, exposed grounding wires,

TBC mounted, custom tire pressures.

litre bikes watch out! :gun:

600 & still running in......

If it's a 600.

Battery - if it's spoilt, the bike shop should claim from GH.

Tow - the bike shop should be the one takin the bill.
