Checked with LTA records e AL vespa is a px and reg in Feb 1983. So owner must have bought e no and buy e body and put it as one.

But sadly bike's reg no does not tally wit e year registered.

U guys shouldnt be taking pics of other ppl's bike n juz put it up on the net.. even if u wana to it, at least u blur out the no plates.

hmm sorry to say this CY but i kinda agree. actually that bike belongs to my friend and from what i know of him, he might not be too happy with his licence plate being flashed like that on a public forum. do you think you can take down the pic with his number plate? or better still, all the pics? as proud as my friend is of his bike, i don't think he will like people speculating over it all over a forum.

ya.. totally agree with fluffpuff. my previous sportsbike was also "shot" n post on sum forum w comments like how "nice", "special", "modify" it was...

until one day, every tom ###### n herry wana race w mi on the rd.

this is juz unneeded attention... sumtimes, we "do up" our wheels is juz to satisfy ourself, not for the whole world to noe.

leyland, yes, with the additional lock system, it does make the seat higher....

and yes....the spring is adjustable....there is a screw below the seat to make it stiffer or softer....

Good tips Sharpey!!

Vigano, as for your mini-workshop...10th Mar can?

Ritz, think your effort for a claim is gone...no witness and no records of the car....

arr alright. i'll try again later. btw anyone knows roughly how much is the ultraman handlebar for sprint? 1st and 2nd hand?

for practical reason, i would not recommend a ultraman handle...it looks pretty but i would advise you to go for the super/sprint handle if you wanna change...

the handle is very narrow and that makes running those wires/cables tricky....secondly, it is a "enclosed" handle meaning, you cant oil you cables..

water do sip thru those tiny gaps and leaves cleaning them in the handle near impossible....

just my 0.002cents worth

Helo Gweester, sadly it seems that should be the case even Ah Joo told me that. Maybe i should change to 2nd party next time i renew my insurance? Anyway Aj has already laid-up my Scoot cos my road tax n Ins ends early next mth since i will only be gettin my Scoot hopefully by March....I will go down to Aj tomo n maybe take pix of my injured Scoot n post it here.

Read somewhere here u using Bitubo? Hows the experience like using it? Cos i'm changing to one(front forks) the last one i used(3-legged ones)dive quite hard/deep n vibrates .....

i would think the locking system is expensive.....that was why i did not change it many years back...but i think the petrol cap with the lock is not that reliable...so i decided to opt for the locking system...at least i have less worries of not being able to open up my petrol tank.....

just my 2cents worth...

no sure how many those fuel caps with lock cost...think someone post the price b4....should be much cheaper than the locking system,,,,

Sharpey's the man using bitubo....

it is definitely better than our 3-legged front....

btw how old is is scoots?

bikes older than 10yrs are not able to get 2nd party insurance...

cos on paper, old/classic/vintage bikes dont have paper value...so no point...

Activity overnight again...

This is like reading the news in the morning

Who quoted 1300 for changing to the disc brake?? Surely it can't cost that much...

Do do the mod you'd need the following...

1) Change front fork

2) Change front hub to star shaped disc brake kind (hub will come with brake caliper and disc)

3) change handlebar bottom and top and front brake lever and speedo and headlight

4) cut a hole in the mudguard at the back for the brake line to run through...

I can't see how this would cost sooooo much 7-800 sounds more like it...

Bitubo will cost you around 600 for the set (front and back) and you'll love them... Of course they are complete overkill unless you really want the best. I need them to cope with the heavy weight my darling scooter needs to bear on a daily basis.... two well fed Europeans

You can buy a stiffer sping for your current rear shock, which while not adjustable, will stiffen things up...

You can also buy a new front shock (from the PXmilenium model) ask for disc brake shock... these are the best front shock ever made stock for the PX and are pretty smooth.... (are made by Sebac in Italy).... You could also think about importing a Sebac rear shock (aftermarket) which is adjustable for preload... they cost much less than the Bitubos...

I would look into the following mods though.... These have made my PX very stable....

http://www.claussstudios.com, for shock to frame mount, and engine mounts (or buy swing arm stablisers instead of the engine mounts... from http://www.hotrodscooters.com) Both are small scale US firms run by scooterists... their stuff isn't a rip off, shipping is cheap, and the products ROCK!

Oh and Ritz.... to get cosa clutch plates, you first need a cosa clutch... they're about 100 second hand....

People don't like the fact that they are a little noisier than the old px clutch... but to be frank... its a 2 stroke!!!! they are noisy animals!

The cosa clutch is much smoother and gives a lovely delivery of power... no more mini wheelies when starting out in 1st!.... The cosa is a 4 plate clutch (stock px has 3).... but a 5 plate surflex(brand) kit is available from scootershops overseas.... apparantly, this 5 plate kit along with some firmer springs makes the cosa clutch even better....

The clutch should be a straight swop... no mods nec.
