thanx..but the uncle at ban hoe did everything..

there's no specific way of putting the stack together is there???the holes don't have to align???

anyways,i tried early this morning and was surprised at the boost in acceleration!

:giddy:

but i guess my tuning is still wonky...i'll try it again once i have enough spare time...

but you're right!!..addictive as hell and quite frustrating too.....

-= Unsure of what to get=-

No... not to worry... the holes don't need to align or anything....

I trust you watched Mr Ban Hoe Leong guy do it though!

Expect higher fuel consumption

Expect more torque on hills (esp on expressway)

Let us know if you experience a kind of "fourstroking" sound when you rev the engine high.... It sounds like the revs are breaking up and sputtering at high revs... This four stroking is an indication that you're RICH... Which isn't dangerous and can be tuned out.... Let us know if you feel that the engine doesn't rev high enough, eg when you ride, the engine kind of hits a wall at the top of third gear and doesn't want to rev higher... This again is an indication of being rich... and again can be tuned out...

Tuning the carb requires you to touch the stack.... But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it....

The screw at the back only tunes your idle mixture... meaning how lean/rich the fuel is at low revs and nearly closed throttle.... As long as yours is between 1.25 - 1.5 turns (which it is) you should be fine.... We can double check this on the 25th as some carbs require 3 turns on this screw (depends on how fine the screw threads are...)

Bad news, my scoot still rattles.....

read about small-end bearing in the manual...

was wondering where it's located as i can't seem to find any other info. on it except that "small-end bearing wear is characterised by a metallic rattle when the engine is run".

-= Unsure of what to get=-

Posted

Hmmm small end bearing is where your piston connects to the conrod (If I remember correctly)... not something you'll be able to fix yourself.... But, I doubt it is this given that your "rattle" only happens at high revs...

You shouldn't explode anytime soon with the new jetting, so don't panic... We'll have a look at your squish and timing etc at the meetup.... I'll bring solder and my digital calipers, and my torque wrench

will do.....

just wondering kos i can't even find it in the index.....

and i know i won't explodee....:sian:

till date i've never opened my throttle to the max....

anyways, where can i get the flywheel remover???

don't worry, i wont touch my flywheel as yet....

and what's the difference between a normal flywheel and racing flywheel?

-= Unsure of what to get=-

Posted

A racing flywheel helps your clutch to wear out faster.

They are lighter versions of normal flywheels and allow the scoot to rev higher and more quickly.... the trouble is that they affect the balance of the crank, put strain on the clutch and are less efficient at cooling (fins are smaller)...

Ban Hoe Leong sells the flywheel tool, as does TA.... can't remember how much for though...

Guys!! happy chinese new year!! n..i got question..haha

how to know if my fuel in going to finish since i dun have 'fuel meter' lol ..n why my scoot produce somewhat like a lot of smoke??

http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u160/ay3928k/aj.jpg
Posted

Ejatt>... When riding, its very hard to noe since u dont have any fuel meter. Do u have a reserve switch? If u do, u will feel the engine like spurting and wanting to die while riding then its time to switch ur lever to the reserve.

Nway concerning ur smoke..usually it is due to excessive 2t mix with the petrol.

Posted

one way is to open the tank and see how much fuel is left, when it just hit reserve (the top of the fuel filter inlet thingy, dunno what's that called), you have about 40-50km left to play with. enough for you to go from jurong to changi to topup.. haha

and yeah..too much smoke usually due to too much 2T mixture, 2% is good. i usually do 2% plus some extra (about 10ml) for safety
