Lets put it this way.... you scoot currently has an ac setup with a reuglator that converts some of this AC current to DC... not all... That is why most stuff only works when the engine is running... its also why your lights dim at idle etc....

Vespa's have this rectifier that only converts half the AC sine wave to DC for good reason... its cheaper to fit!

Buying a Full Wave rectifier solves this problem as then all the AC current produced by the engine is turned into DC, meaning that your battery (once you get it wired into the system like that on a modern PX) will get a decent charge, and that your lights won't dim at idle etc... this means you can run devices with a higher drain (eg the BMW horn) will not drain the battery as the battery will be getting a healthy charge from the engine...

http://www.trailtech.com make such a rectifier which is specifically designed to convert antiquated scooters like ours into modern machines....

Tell you what... wait till I get mine working... then explain to Wee, and see if he can redo your wiring to PX style for you... This is the ONLY reliable way that you're going to be able to run high drain devices without regularly killing batteries....

why on earth would you want to wear a horse riding helmet on a scooter? Use the sales section if you want to sell stuff....

I guess... but given that the cost of importing one was about the same as the stock piaggio one costs around $80... i couldn't be bothered to look... but yeah, if you fancy a search, you want a sealed 150w fullwave rectifier...

The stock one is only a half wave and thus is not really very good at charging the battery (something you'll need if you want to run extra stuff)...

Its not even a motorcycle helmet Lexicon.... Oh, and by the way, even horse riders don't wear these anymore... Know why? Because they're not safe.

Sell stuff in the sales thread.... that's what its for.

:: heya lyoa... there's no exact colour code for mine coz it was custom-mixed by my mechanic at roda dua workshop... just go to whichever workshop you're comfortable with... and maybe the rest of the guys here can assist you in other recommendations... good luck~ ::

Hey those riding PX150, may I know what brand and model of spark plug you guys are using? I'm using Champion PN-5C. It used to have a lot of carbon deposits. Now oil deposits. I've played around with my mixture screw but the plug is still fouling. Hmmm......

you can try an NGK B6HS or NGK B7HS.... 6 is a hotter plug suited for town riding... 7, or 8 better for highway use...
