Betta rest well.... and with the unpredictable weather these days, dun not ride around too much! And how was the bike involved in the accident? Everything alright?

hey guys,

When I'm riding on the roads it pulls me back and jerks me forward and does this several times until I lower the speed or adjust my throttle. It feels like the kind of jerk when you go at high speed but change to gear 3 and back to gear 4.

This seems dangerous.

What can I do?

At least 100 ml for every 5L i pump, or even more.

I'm starting to wonder if my constant switching of petrol/2T oil is the reason if it's piston jam/seizure? I'm using semi-synthetic. The one that I bought from shell for $5 at 0.5L

Posted

Different petrols won't make a difference... (unless you're trying to run98 octane on a stock engine.... [runs much hotter than lower octanes... 92 is all you need on a stock engine...])

Different 2T Oils will.... Semi-synth and fully synth don't mix well... Dino oil and semi-synth don't mix well either...

Have you checked your jetting?? You could very well be running tooooo lean :-) Try a bigger main jet.

it occured to me in the pass when i changed my block to a pinasco one. jerking too. when i hit over 90km/h. After i change to cdi, no more jerking and high top speed.

Woah ok.. this is getting confusing..

1) How do I know mine's a stock engine? Mine is a Vespa Exclusive II 150cc. I always pump 98 cos I was recommended by Ah joo to do Shell/Caltex and 98.

2) So if mine's a stock engine all I need to do is run 92? No higher than that?

3) What's dino oil?

4) I've bought a new one from Esso. 1L for $10. Not sure if it's fully synthetic because it only states synthetic blend, I also saw a gold version for $20 which writes 100% synthetic. What's the difference?

5) So now what can I do? Run my petrol to the minimum and stick to one kind of 2T oil? What happens when I want to switch brands/type? Run my petrol dry and top up with a different 2T oil?

6) How do I check my jetting? What's that? What does it mean when I'm running too lean and how much does changing to a bigger main jet cost? Where is the main jet located?

BTW sharpey, I'm not French. I'm pure Singaporean. I just so desired that name ;)

hi guys, is it alright to use metal washer with the oil drain nut?

did my oil change today. realised the gasket-liked ring around the oil drain nut had worn out and i do not have any of those liquid gasket with me. so i use a piece of metal washer in my toolbox instead. i'm afraid tt the gear oil would leak..cos afterall, gasket's more secure than a washer.

i'll just answer what i'm more familiar with...

modern 2T oil comes with addictives that will form a protective layer over the moving parts over a period of time. this will help to lubricate the parts better.

however if you were to switch brands, types, etc... that protective layer would be removed by the new 2T that you use, so its not so advisable to keep switching the brands of 2T... choose one and try to stick to it.

and if you really have to switch 2T, try to run it as dry as possible... NO need to do what i did before, run around my neighbourhood until i have to push my bike into the kiosk :cheeky: juz make sure its almost empty will do.

Posted

btw if u see 2T oils that say that it is of synthetic blend, synthetic based or so on... its most likely (if not 100% sure) semi-synthetic 2T...

the fully synthetic 2T are v obvious, stating clearly that it is FULLY SYN, or 100% SYN... no way you can miss that...

another telling factor is the price

Posted

and i'm still trying to finish my mineral-based 03 bottles of 2T oil tat i got.

LOL think will only finish those in another 2-3 months. Then can switch over to another brand... pref semi-synth or better than.

Rae's problem is unique... but u might wanna grab a spare gasket from a workshop in case ur washer conks out on u while riding?? :giddy:

Washer dun seem very secure to me... there's always some leaking.

Alsacehendon > Stock is the original engine that comes with ur PX. I noe mine wasn't as the previous seller added a malossi kit to it.

As for ur 2T oil, grab it from workshops like Ah Joo, Ah Boy or Tong Aik. Its defn cheaper. Petrol kiosk is only for emergency purchases.... they jack up the prices ALOT!

perhaps you can give more details on which bike and model year you riding and roughly when the jerking happen (as in under what circumstance).

that should catch the attention of fellow riders that are riding the same bike to come to your assistance.

good luck

:cheer:

ah leong always say ... dunno? dont do!
