Hi all,

 

As posted earlier, am a proud new owner of a 1983 bajaj chetak. Bought it "naked", now having probs sourcing its emblem and badges. Can anyone out there help me? Did read through all the posts and searched all the websites already, from scooterworks, Sip, Poc, Sos...All of it but just can't seem to find the hexagonal emblem, the legshield badge and the badges for the side cowls. Anyone who knows where to custom make also can, thanks.

Oh and thanks to sharpey also for all the useful info in the wiki.

No worries... If you want Bajaj stuff, I'd look into some Indian shops.. I believe there is one online shop that deals in Bajaj and LML parts... can't remember the name though... A quick trip to Mumbai perhaps?

Ha ha, yup seems I need to go Mumbai then. Its so diff to find just the emblems man. Even over here in Jakarta where the "Bajaj tuk tuk" is a common form of transportation.....I still can't find it!!!!!! Oh why did I not buy a Px....I tot I wanted to be unique, wrong choice.

Been searching for days and days already. Alot of this "Indian" websites do not have online shopping. You need to send them an e-mail (sent many already btw) and wait...and wait... and wait. Alternatively custom-made them but......min 300pcs.

oh well Gremlin. To be sure it isn't going to be easy to find Bajaj badges... most people prefer switching them for Vespa ones... Well done for being truthfull to your scoot though In the uk they call them Curryburners... its a name I quite like too

 

Anyone got an Et8 fork hanging around that they want to sell... Am hunting... My search around kallang ubi today wasn't sucessful.

shouldn't be a problem as far as I can see. Just swap out the hubs and drill a couple of holes in the fender...

Well Sharpey, patience always pays off. Found a shop in the US that still have the old vintage original ones that says "bajaj_chetak" and the hex emblems as well. Not cheap though, too bad I cannot see the merchandise. Working in Jakarta and got them to ship to my home in Singapore. Probably get to see it in a month or two, the excitmentment n suspense is killing me! They are REALLY difficult to find.

All is fine at my side thankfully. Scoot won't cost much to fix it seems. Glad to hear that you're on the mend... all the insurance stuff should hopefully be sorted out soon.

 

I do hope you'll get back on your scoot at the end of all this.
