heyy.. ive been trying to find a classic vespa.. but all my efforts are all in vain..

is there other places where i can find them beside going to ah joo or tong aik?

how much does a sprint or a super usually cost?

can someone help me? cos im jus a newbie in here : P

Hi weenies, welcome to Classics Vespa world...there's some Vespa for sale here on the classifieds or maybe you can try Ah Kau shop (Behind Spore Post Paya lebar). Wif regards to the cost of sprint or super, it depends whether you want the real vintage sprint/super body fully restored that can cost from $3000 - $ 5000++ or normal PX mod up into a sprint/super...(roughly can cough up to $2000++)

perhaps you can give more details on which bike and model year you riding and roughly when the jerking happen (as in under what circumstance).

that should catch the attention of fellow riders that are riding the same bike to come to your assistance.

good luck

I'm riding a Vespa Exclusive II. similar to PX. it jerks/pulls back when i'm travelling at higher speeds. It seems to be piston seizure. I have added 2T oil and there seems to be no further problems.

Hi guys, got my list of mods to do.

Vespa Mods

=============

Spray rusted parts/remove rusted parts

Change tyres

Chrome brakes/linings

Silver vespa words on the side

Back spare wheel chrome housing

Vintage helmets x 2

Change red grips for throttle

Leg stand for pillion

Emblems at the front tyre guard

Change horn

Red leather seats

Re-Spray white bike as white/polish till white as new.

Any suggestions/comments?

Would anyone be so kind to tell me the estimate cost of such modifications and if they're worth it to modify?

Also, I'd like to ask if the tyres are really worth changing, because they still have grips. My friend suggested I change them because he felt that 'brandless' tyres aren't safe for riding. But he rides a 1000cc bike so I'm not sure if he knows about Vespas.

Hmm, this is roughly what i can remember... heh..

Spray rusted parts/remove rusted partsThis will be inclusive of the paint job that u paid

Change tyres $40 per tyre - try get bridgestone battlax, labour $10-$15

Chrome brakes/linings eh, not sure wat is this, heh.

Silver vespa words on the side $10

Back spare wheel chrome housing$100 with installation

Vintage helmets x 2$35 per helmet

Change red grips for throttle$15 a pair

Leg stand for pillion$50

Emblems at the front tyre guard$15

Change horn$25 with labour

Red leather seats$80

Re-Spray white bike as white/polish till white as new.$300 1 color $350 2 colors

As vintage tyres does not cost as much, its advisable to change. I'll recommend battlax bridgestone. I changed mine from no brand to taht, and its a VERY good investment. Esp for bikes. Do Let ur tyres run a day or 2 to make it season b4 u hit fast again.

The rear wheel rack does not come with a tyre, heh...

U need not have a tyre though. U can either not place any tyre or place it at ur leg shield area.

The rack is pretty useful for me, whereby i put my bag and laptop behind. heh.

As for the horn, i guess u r refering to hella or stebel horns. They shd be roughly $20 and above with out installation.

However do take note of 2 things.

1) the voltage and amp of the horn. Classic has 12v, and most horns are 12v, but the amp are different. Incompatible amp will cause fuse to blow, battery to be weaken fast, or damaging of the wires.

2) air horns are illegal in singapore. So do see if the packaging says air horn or etc. heh.
