hey there,

yea, i got the scorp exhaust approved a few months back. Was the first scorp exhaust in singapore for bikes, thus they were quite stringent bout it.

But i have everything prepared, documents and etc. It took one week to settle everything.

The only fees in singapore will be the inspection charge, which is $50 odd, apart from that, nothing much.

Do purchase pipes only if they can produce the certs, if not, it will be difficult to be approved. Wanted to get the PM68, which gives so much more performance but it doesnt have a cert nor is it road legal, thus i settled for the scorp.

yeap.

Hey Ejatt,

FYI, theres a couple of Vespa shops in Singapore that you can rely on.

Even in the perfect world of Vespa, there's still shops in Singapore that loves to be "Political"

Only till you've seen and spoken to them all personally, you'd be able to judge for yourself and know what it's all about.

And in actual fact, YOU dont hve to look any further if you your budget is right!

There are many choices at

Jin Cheng Motors(Home of the Classic Vespa in Singapore)

Also theres at Beautiful Red Sprint Veloce with Plate "AH" to match it.

Price??? You have to meet the "man" personally to enquire.

The address is at...

Block 2007,

Ubi Road 1, #01-456,

Singapore 408701

Tel No: 67466785

Ask for Ah Joo

And nice to have you on our Frenster and Portal.

Cheers and Good Luck on your search :)

wow, i nvr knew unsith changed his pipe.

No wonder his GT SOOOOOOOOOO loud.... sounds more like our classic scoot engine sound instead of auto GT :p

on a point of note, i went down to VIACOM at bukit batok just a mth back for inspection. Checked minimal stuff i think. The mechanic only checked my lights (my front signal failed but my back signal works juz fine... LOL), brakes, alignment and i think tats about it.

Engine is loud but i guess he's used to old scoots sounding clunky.

short and sweet. $16.80. :cheeky:

I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to death, your right to say it.

yea sharpey, i got it from sip.

and yes, the shipping was steep. it was very close to a 4 figure amount. But luckily, it came in one piece. That's much more impt yea? then not arriving and panic around.

U getting the 200 to fit into ur PX ?

to planescape: eh, not SOOOOOOOOOOOOO loud la. But its kinda safer for me, esp when i (and most riders), squeeze between cars on the highway.

azahoneystar... Why didn't you put your spare tyre on?? Clearly one of the best parts of the vespa!

You can find a bigger box... made from fibreglass afaik... do some searching.

I'd leave your engine alone if I were you... it'll cost alot (anodizing is possible if done properly) and if not done properly will screw up stuff...

azahoneystar>> heh, i'd like to get a small glove box, let me know when u changing to a bigger one. :cheeky: buy the small box from you

and btw, 3legged suspension dives in a lot when you brake, you might want to reconsider doing that. then again, if you are for the classic feel...YEP, its a must have

btw...where is Jin Cheng Motor ?? :cheeky:

Sharpey, Phew! tot the cost of the paperwork for LTA is S$700....cos for other bikes the inspection cost is only S$50...

so the S$700 is the exhaust and shipment cost...still pretty hefty...

guess i will have to shelve the idea for the time being...

ah786786, yeah....guess it looks pretty awesome to be fitted with those kinda of exhaust...but doubt it will be approved...

we can mock up however hard it is on the rest of the stuff but the exhaust just kills it....Sigh!

when will LTA loosen the rules on exhaust for our scoots?

BTW, anyone got the address of the scooter shops in JB?

Tot of going to check it out while i still have my big bike....
