thanx for the blutak tip...

need to stock up on tools too...

money fly away....

my IU is connected to the scoot's batt but the IU is fixed to the nose...

so quite ugly to me...

thinking of getting the IU an independent power source & get a bag for the spare tyre.

one with a pocket so i can slip the IU into the poket every time i ride...

It is possible to change to autolube (I think)... but am not sure if you'll find a place that's willing to do it for you... it will require mods to youre engine casings carb and carb box... you'll also need to cut a hole in your frame for the 2T window and buy a new fuel tank.... Proabably not worth it unless you're determined.... My autolube PX has an 8 litre fuel tank.

The manual to get is made by a company called Haynes. (amazon.com will have it).

Shipping from the US (if I remember right) was about 20 something USD

Labour costs for intalling everthing shouldn't be too high, you could do it yourself with the right tools.... (i.e. its not complicated so it shouldn't cost much to have a mech do it... maybe 40bucks??

$72 for the work you stated above seems ok... (try to keep tabs on how much you spend... also ask them to itemise the bill... that way you'll learn quickly how much things should cost and not just have to *trust* all the time!!!)

cephelix,

yeah, you should try to ask the bike shop to list the item down so that at least you know how much each item cost...

general servicing? what did they do? change oil, spark plugs, wash & tune carbs, brush the carbon off you piston, etc? need to check what is done....

As for the independant power source for your IU, doubt you will find one cos in the past there used to be one IU that runs on just the normal AA size battery but LTA has since phase them out liao....

you could as you mentioned to fit the battery in your front tire rack (if i am not wrong that your spare tire is in front) and keep the IU in the pouch of the tire bag... but you need to take into consideration that you will need to bring out your IU to scan thru the gantry at the correct position...and if you are someone that travels thru these gantry often, it can be quite troublesome....

Sharpey, your tank capacity is 8 litres with autolube?

pretty good huh? are you using a stock tank or you got it changed?

7.5litres on '82 px150 (pre-mix). tried and tested.

azahoneystar>> sounds like carb running outta petrol? try check ur jets and fuel cap...make sure its not tighten too tightly.

the fuel cap thing happened to me. i painted over the 'breathing hole' and petrol can't flow as a result. resort to drilling 2 holes on fuel cap. to test...try ride with the cap open to see if u get the same effect.

thanx for the tips guys....

in summary (1) ask shop to itemise bills for ease of keeping tabs on expenditure & other stuff

(2) IU with independant power source may not be available

(3) mods from clauss studios are going to cost more than i expected

(4) i have very little cash so mods are going to be done abit at a time (don't know whether to start with front disc brake+ fork conversion or motor mount upgrades)

(5) no chance of having autolube on my bike

anybody has a copy of haynes for me to xerox??

and i'm assuming LAB opens on a satuday afternoon?

kos i need to go get a helmet before zipping off to vivocity.

woh, yeah, planning to go to LAB in the morning...

get a helmet for my gf n maybe get 2T also...

what brand is gs enuf?

i know some using esso something..

motul watchamakallit

and other things....

wondering if i should just stick with the brand my brother uses for the vespa??

cephelix,

try to use fully synthetic 2T....castrol R2...or esso fully synthetic....it will have a higher chance of preventing piston jam.....

As for the things to change....take it easy first...have some experience with your new scoots before you decide....

if anything (like tire wearing out, disk brake not functioning, etc) that will affect your safety, go get it change first...otherwise, just leave it....

will do gweester...

just wondering what to change to improve safety...

gear changing is still abit weird for me..

the clutch lever goes way down when in 4th gear...

abit hard to find using only fingers..

not used to it..thinking of taking it for a ride near CDC or eunos techpark to familiarise myself with the scoot.

does regina sell the measuring cup for measuring 2t?

-= Unsure of what to get=-

tong aik sells the measuring cup. But after a while, i think most ppl will pour the 2T by 'agar-ation'. ha. 2 cents.

as for 2T, castrol R2 is pretty good. I've tried others last time by R2 works best for me. Was riding sprint veloce last time.

It's a PX200, so dunno if it's too old liao. Advice?

the 'original' keys's type cannot be found easily @ the keymakers. But however, some use some other type and 'modify' to become workable.

As for loss of keys, wah... quite difficult. I think u might need to change that handle lock and the glove box altogether. i think...

Ouch. Whole glove box also must change? Tot it was just the lock... So should call Future tom I guess ack. Hope the hole in my pocket won't burn too big...

cephelix>> u might want to get those cough syrup bottles for your 2T, accurate and easy to carry/store. And yes, try to use fully synthetic, its not a good experience if your bike was to have a seizure.

Eseru>> i think un-sith meant just the locks of your glovebox, changing a new set don't cost much. And i believe some other (non-original) keys can still be grinded for the job, no need orginal ba
