cephelix... once again, there's no point spending money on a new front spring/shock, if you're thinking about changing the forks...

Am also looking forward to Friday....

Welcome to whats likely to be the biggest addiction you've ever faced... Ask cephelix... he's in the midst of a vespa binge

There are two places that we classicos normally frequent...

1) Tong Aik, golden wall centre, nextdoor(ish) to sim lim square

2) Ah Joo, in Ubi industrial area (search aj scooters on google to get the add)

How much to pay is dependant on how "full" you want this check to be....

You can spend 40$ or so (less rather than more), on a normal servicing where oil will be changed etc...

or spend a bit more to have the shop open your engine casings to look at the extend of wear on your bearings and seals etc... (get estimates from both shops for the cost of a rebuild...) If you don't know when the engine was last rebuilt... doing it could save you a lot of trouble in the future (essentially you'll have a brand new engine....) While you're at it, get some new piston rings... they wear out.

Even better would be to come along to the meetup this friday.... the details are on page 59 or 60....

Welcome [W]haT to been a scooterist!!!

another dude on board!!!

cephelix,

I don't usually pump at caltex though...

Platinum labelled petrol? 98 probably....

gotta watch out on the sharp cornering....scoots are not build for sharp cornering....

do it with other bikes...especially sports bike but not scoots....

sharpey > i know.... but i'm just enquiring....

> saw a guy with a px200 whose front fork has dampeners(is that what they're called?) The small canisters of compressed gas.....

need to see how things go before i decide on anything...all will be decided on saturday.....

[W]haT > it is addictive!!!! Damn you sharpey and your truths....

ahahaha...well, yeah..just got my px200 too... only thing stopping me from going overboard is my lack of funds (On a sidenote, do contribute to the "Ali aka cephelix needs more money fund").

Most of them here do their servicings at TA..

but I do mine at AJ kos it's near my house n the guys there wont chop u like carrot...

going over this saturday if you're interested in going.

and yeah, like what sharpey says, do get your engine checked if you don't know it's status/health/condition, whatever you wanna call it...

& while you're at it, do change rusty screws/bolts/nuts and ask the mechanic to check all the small details.....

I didn't & i've been tying up my mainstand everytime i ride for a week now.

oh, and my left rear signal light is not working > it seems that i've probably been riding with a non-working signal light for about 1+ week.and my horn doesnt work too...everytime i press the button, it only switches the light to highbeam...

ahahaha....

most of all, prioritise...which is the hardest thing to do.....

un-sith!if you ever read this > benjamin says you got a $1000+ painjob?!

cephelix, another thing....

dont do major stuff on your bike as yet....ride it for a little while longer then decide...no point hurrying....change only things that are necessary first...like your tyres....otherwise when you make the decision on some parts and later on realise that it is not what you wanted...$$ lost!!

take it easy mate....

finally thread is alive n kicking again..

i was dying waiting for someone to post yesterday..

Gwee> I know....that's why i'm not making any changes that cost more than $100..and any changes i do make i make sure that if anything else in the future changes on my bike, that it can still be reused.
