It's a overheating problem cos the water have not much pressure due to the leakage. Let's hope he check again and hope it's the rubber hose that is cracked.

By the way your bike got thermostat anot huh? Check liao bo? If thermostat don't open and allow water to go thru the radiator then overheat occurs.:thumb:

Talking about radiator cooling system.....We should all do a proper flushing every 2 years. Most shops do not do a proper job. They only change the coolant. That is not good enough. I always diy my cooling system.

:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

so can organise mass flushing of coolant session?

you deserve better from me, i can be better, i will be better!

Wait, check and see where the crack is. On the radiator pipe or the rubber hose. If no crack, just tighten the clip will do. If crack is on the rubber hose, change the hose only. Cheep cheep one. But if the crack is on the radiator pipe, then probably have to change the radiator or have it welded (May not last long).....

i have helped my cousin fixed his leaking fuel tank, radiator with steel epoxy.

lasted him all the way til he scrap or sell the bikes away. :D

Slow down abit, smell the air and enjoy the scenery.

I more kiasu that you, i DIY flush every year.

flush until inside clean clean, then add waterwetter + distilled water. :thumb:

i have heard people using vinegar mixture to flush, but i don't see the need unless your radiator is all rusty and full of gunks inside.

Organise flushing system is no problem. But the owner must know how to access the radiator, reserve tank, water outlet etc. Some bikes are quite complicated and I won't know how to access those items cos you may have to take out other things first. I only know my old S4 very well and my present bike.

Using vinegar and water is good! Only thing is, it's smelly lah. I usually use commercial radiator sytem cleaner. You should use vinegar or cleaner cos inside the whole system, thermostat, narrow passage ways etc there are bound to be those gluey stuff. Don't believe me, open the radiator cap and touch the inside....it will feel as if there is a layer of gum on it. After flushing with vinegar or cleaner, feel it and you will find the difference. Macham like oily plate washed in water, rub across it and you will find it slippery. Wash the oil plate with dish washing liquid, rub across it and you can hear a clean 'zip' sound. Damn clean and shiok lah. Try it.......:thumb:

Thermostat only direct the flow of the coolant. The fan works by sensor. When too hot then the sensor activates the fan motor to run. If thermostat do not open then the coolant runs in between the engine only. The fan cools nothing then. Check see how.:)

sounds good.

the gum/gooey stuffs are caused by anti-freeze ?

have been not been using any coolant with anti-freeze in my cooling system for a very long time, no calls for concern right?
