dealer or brand went out of business?

Let say if it is the dealer that went out of business. It not that it is happening to me now. But judging from how volatile the market is now, anything can happen. If the brand is being sold by another dealer, then no issue. But if there is no dealer, then who can help with the transfering of ownership and issuing the cover note for the inspection etc.... Of course I will think the last channel will be LTA themselves.

The point is. if the st legal can't be legalised, then the value will be dropped to a race can value. Luckily so far all my previsou owned st legal exhausts outlast the dealers. :shades:

Q:Bought a bike with a legal exhaust with documents, contents of the letter which is a leo vince pipe from g max with hand-written of name, ic number, bike no ,engine no ,chassis no.but bike number and owner changed due to number retention from previous owner.

go to lv local distributor, transfer the ownership of the pipe, pay him the $$, install the pipe on your bike and go for inspection. viola!

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

Hi,

I'm considering taking out the silencing baffle from my aftermarket exhaust, to improve the sound. Yes, I know this is technically illegal, but my question is: how likely are you to get caught for something like this?

What happens if you're stopped on the road by TP/ROV? Will they know your pipe has been modified, or will they just check your inspection papers and let you go?

How about annual inspection? Do you need to put the baffle back in before every inspection?

And don't worry, I do understand that any answers/opinions on this are personal views, for information only, you're not legally liable if I get into trouble, blah blah blah....

Thanks in advance!

its very easy to see if a street legal exhaust has been tampered with or not.

there will be tell-tale signs if the pipe comes with a baffle or not. most, if not all exhaust with baffle will have a allen screw somewhere.

and the inner diameter will definitely be smaller than the exhaust opening. without it, it will be deemed w/o baffle, unless it come stock w/o it like some models of yoshimura..

Thanks for the info. So looks like it's difficult to disguise an exhaust that has had its baffle removed... in which case, I think I'd really rather not take the chance o_O

go to your exhaust dealer and request a replacement cert. dump it in a ziplock bag before you put it under your seat..

what you want them to inspect for?

even motogp pipes are not custom made, and they are made to pass thru certain FIM regulations.
