Some review i found online about this place..

On first sight, the entrance looks pretty gd with its dim orange lighting which really created a soothing ambience. Staff was very friendly, and even took time to introduce us to the various parts of the buffet. Table was equipped with 2 sets of cutleries, one for the main courses and the other for desserts. Table was candle-lit. Nice ambience I must say.

Went for the light japanese section first. Had a giri (sp) sushi, nothing fantastic. My partner commented that the salmon was really good. The unagi giri sushi was missing, kinda disappointing. There was cold soba, didn't try, but it sure looks good. They have a pretty wide selection of cheese and breads. Nothing much to shout about.

Then we went for the seafood section, there were mussels, clams, xia po, prawns. I only went for the xiapo and prawns. Both were really fresh and tasty, they even have the Singaporean soy saunce with chilli padi dip for it. The prawn was pretty huge and really fresh. Crunchy. A solid section.

Skipped the salads went straight for the grilled section. They had some beef, sausages and prawns. Skipped the beef for religious reasons. But the sausage was unexpectedly gd! I think its with mustard inside, can't really taste it, but the sausage itself was good. Had 2 of the large grilled prawns, and they were really large, most probably of the river variant. The first one was really fresh, and i could taste the texture of the prawn. The second one was horrendous, totally unfresh and powdery.

Next, the Thai station. Had red curries, fried rice, seafood soup, tomyum soup. Didn't manage to try everything. Decent, with special mention for the fried rice. Very well cooked, every grain of rice was coated with the taste.

The Indian section was probably the highlight. WIDE selection, with curries, tandooris, naan, papadom. The tandoori prawn was very tasty as well as the yoghurt chicken. The naan was made in front of you and the curries provided was quite substantial. Very tasty selections. Will come back just for this section.

The Chinese selection was kinda limited. Most prob to avoid competition with Cherry Garden upstairs. They had kong ba pao, prawn wrapped in bacon, kong pao chicken and lor mee. The kong pao chicken was really tender, love it. Lor mee was so-so, nothing spectacular, except the chilli padi that was super powerful.

Desserts was a slight disappointment. Expected a larger selection of cakes. They had passionfruit cake (sourish), choco mouse (jer lark after 1 piece), pistachio cake, raspberry mouse. They have the cheesecakes cut into squares and onto the cutesy small plates. That was really thoughtful, the presentation was good as well. Cakes were all right. The waffle station was pretty good, the chef will warm it up quickly and you can top it up with ice cream. The coconut and chocolate ice cream was quite heavenly. Can taste the choco beans and coconut shreds. The waffle quality was varying though, my partner had a good one while mine was rock crispy. The fondue was pretty all right, height prolly around 80com - 1m tall. They had marshmellows, waffles, some fruits to go with it. Decent I would say. The fruit section was very well decorated, but the fruits wasn't. They were cut into very weird shapes, and they didn't have ice on them. So some fruits look brownish already.

As for the alcohol, we had Tiger beer, Absolute vodka with lime, vodka with orange juice. For $10 more, that was worth every penny. But take note, you cannot enjoy CC privileges if you choose to have the free flow alcohol.

Another place that i would want to try is The Greenhouse at Ritz Carlton

This review is for Manzz :D

Having heard many good reviews for it, I made a reservation yesterday for their Seafood Dinner Buffet and was told it will not be the usual Seafood buffet they used to serve. For this week, they called it Australian Seafood Buffet.

Reached there before 6:30pm and there are already some diners seated. Buffet started promptly at 6:30pm. Headed straight to the seafood section. First thing that caught my eyes are the big prawn, not the usual smaller ones you get at other places. There are also crabs (those normal type), lobster claws, a few types of mussels, oysters, small lobsters (like those we rear) and scallops. Only tried the prawns, lobster claws and mussels and were not disappointed. The prawns are firm and crunchy and very fresh tasting. Instead of the normal crayfish, they serve Boston Lobster. The live lobsters are boiled in two big pots, pity those lobsters as they were struggling for their life. So I gave two of them a decent burial in my stomach.

For the Japanese section, there are a few types of sashimi (salmon, tuna and another type of fish). I did not try any of the sashimi as my tummy is not feeling well. An assortment of sushi are also available. Taste like those you get in a Japanese restaurant. One thing that stands out is the Unagi sushi, instead of a small piece of eel over a big lump of rice, you get a thick piece of eel meat that cover the whole rice ball. Took two pieces of it and that is the last I seen of them as they were not refilled.

Next up, the hot dishes. Herbal chicken, braised duck, stuffed quail meat, roast beef, curry mutton, sea cucumber with mushroom, sweet and sour prawns and quite a few more dishes which I didn’t checked out. Gave the chicken and duck a miss, only tried a little of the rest except for the sea cucumber which I ate many pieces (expensive stuffs must eat more).

The only remotely Australian food that I came across is the roast Kangaroo meat. At first glance, it look like roast beef to me. The serving was very small, 3 tiny pieces of the meat with a dark purple centre. Can’t really taste anything out of it as the herbs are too strong though it’s very tender and soft.

There are also roast beef and lamb which the chef will crave for you. Skipped this also as almost too stuffed to eat any more. There are also salads, assortment of cheese and breads, soups which I didn’t bother to check them out.

Finally the desserts. Citrus pie (orange and other fruits), Apple pie, and the usual stuffs. Didn’t try any of them. No chocolate fountain to be found here but they do have a variety of chocolate balls and squares. Tried them all, and one word to describe, “Yummy”. For ice creams, they have 4 flavours, Pineapple, Sour Peach, Chocolate and another one I didn’t ask. Only tried the Pineapple and Sour Peach, taste more like sherbet then ice cream but it’s a very refreshing change from the usual Strawberry, Vanilla and Chocolate ones.

By the time I left at about 8pm, the tables were fully occupied. Overall the it was a pleasure dinning there, the services were very good, empty plates are cleared almost as soon as you finished the foods on it, napkin are folded nicely on the table the moment you left the seat to get more foods. Best of all the seafood are very fresh, no powdery after taste.
