Hi guys

 

I'm new around here and I have a question.

 

I just got myself a 2nd hand wave 125 R, and my top speed is going at 60km/h and it will slowly climb to 80 after i maintain full throttle.

 

Is this normal? Prev, i ride a YBR 125, it only goes to 80km/h and slowly climb to 100km/h

Its either you are super sway to get 2 spoilt bikes or you are super fatty. Me and my 'accessories' weigh over a 100kg and i can easily reach over 100+km/h on my YBR.

 

Check your carb settings, your air box, your sprockets, etc.

i always try to let my bike warm up in the morning... but after running for a few secs, it dies off.

i also dun want to start so many times, dun strain my electric starter and battery, so usually i start and ride off...

Recently, I switch to SPC and it does give me a little better mileage and smoother ride too.

my age is 25 and wanted to renew my wave insurance.

went to a bike shop and they quote me the cheapest for third party only is 460(with new ncd 10%).

and i remember last year i paid less than 400.

anyone can pm me which bike shop can i do my renewal and what is the cheapest insuance?

Note: I stay at hougang and work in woodland. (hope that the bike shop is around this area)

Don't waste time with bikeshops getting insurance. Google the internet and you get all sorts of insurance companies that will give you a quote either online or via telephone.

 

Heres some to consider -

1) DirectAsia

2) AXA ANDA Insurance

3) NTUC Income

need help, riding a wave R. using racing boy oversized disc brake. recently sounds are emitting from the front brakes. changed the brake pads, the sound wasn't there for one week and has since return. any ideas what the problem is? wheel bearings? brake caliper maybe?

finally found the thread for wave riders...lol

tot no more active thread liao since it the era of Yammies now...

 

Rode a Wave during it hey days of modding it fast & have extensive sound system....

 

now gotten another Wave as a spare bike..lol

Yup agree with nuffil3ed it a simple & bulletproof engine...

 

Just curious, nwadays i believe LAB still have some accessories for Wave right?

I juz looking for the front basket and the pouch if anyone have ...

 

Brake have sound could be due to many factors...

nv ask yr mech???

Well aft ride in the rain or wet enviroment or dusty environment, sure have sound for a while...

change new brake pads oso will have sound (depends on wat brands oso) coz it bedding in...

if nt, could b disc slightly wrap so nid to change disc...

Caliper very unlikely as the nisin caliper on wave is superb..

wheel bearings mayb coz if the bearings are worn sound could emit oso...(i once rode my Blackbird Bearing to the point of breaking...)

 

Also i have a habit of doing up the bike nicely or diff from others....

so i may bring in accessories from other countries....

things tat are not so common in Sg...

maybe head coversets hopefully with some mods able to fit in...lol

and if i have some spares left will let go cheap cheap
