I like the stock vfr look leh. Niwei, Vfr too ex and complicated to mod. Steed cheaper, until can do at mscp! Hahaha

Niwei, already bought a drag bar and fatboy fender with struts. Now waiting for the bike.

Also considered a shadow but the footpegs were near and my knees were waaaayyyy above the tank. Felt strange so decided to go with my experience with the steed. Also tried to sit on someone's slasher (footrest) further away but still the same effect. What to do, got long legs.

another first encounter.... too eager to wash my bike.. end up getting water inside... i dun kow where...

send to my mechanic. he say the key is the one tat always allow water to get in... lucky never take out the whole Carburetor..

 

i think my top speed is 110.. could not seems to hit pass tat mark as the vibration is too much.

Saw a black and white chopped Steed last night at Tampines. FL plate, confirm done by Ah Di cos that's the fender I sell. Haha. Belongs to anyone here?

Ive yet to ask if they tuned by bike after servicing the seals.

Btw all i did was repair the radiator and engine seals, used fully instead of semi synthetic oil and 2.4L instead of 3L T.T, using stock exhaust and adjusted my throttle happy right hand.

Maybe expressway riding helps too.

Something was happening to my steed. It's kinda outta power recently and then i found out that one of the cylinders is firing so weakly. Just sent it for valve clearance and change spark plugs and also do some checks on the engine... $$$ fly away but hoping it's alright when i collect it tomorrow!

Hi guys, long time nv post here already. I met w a problem jus now. When I Want to start my bike, my bike could start, but the sound of the starting sound by the electric starter persists. I off the engine and the electric start sound was still there. I thought my electric starter is stuck or what but I realized my starter button is alright. This carries on for like 5 min plus and then my bike dies. No light at all. Seems like batt die. What should I do now? What's the likely prob? Should I just buy another batt and reinstall myself? Thanks guys

spark plugs, air filter, coolant, engine oil & oil filter, OWS flush, front forks, front wheel bearing, brake pads, brake fluid, alarm, carb washed, steering cone, rear brake light, fuel filter, jets, front tyre, dyna carb tuning, rear tyre, rear tyre inner tubing, rear wheel bearing, fuel tubing, alternator, rectifier, battery, valve clearance/top overhaul, chain & sprocket.

Hello. I would do this. Open up the engine start switch that whole casing and saturate it with WD40. Charge the battery

A few questions to ask.

 

1. Manual states change spark plugs every 3000 km and oil at 12000 km. How many of you actually does that?

2. How much does ah boy sell steeds spark plugs?

3. Where to buy an oil filter opener and where and what size? thanks

WTS FL plate Blue Steed VLX 400

 

What i have done: complete rebuilt

 

1) new timing chain

2) new piston rings

3) revalved intake and exhausts

4) rebuilt fuel switch

5) reconditioned carbeurator

6) new air filter

7) reconditioned starter motor

8) new air intake pipes

9) new aluminium intercylinder coolant pipe

10) recondition radiator

11) new set of engine gaskets

12) new coolant pipes

 

a total cost of more than $2K in repair fees, I am allowed to keep bike now so I am only letting go if the price is right~

 

All repairs done at our favourite and trusted Rosli at kaki bukit autobay.

 

COE due in august 2013. would have kept the bike and renew COE if not for marriage plans coming up.

Hi to one and all, just wanna check it out... what's the price of the mono shock for steed? Brand new and repo ones. And where can i get em? At at least good working condition.

hey guys! im finally getting my steed next week! so looking forward to it! i just wanna check for steed right, how do you guys gauge roughly when to pump? i used to calculate about 160km for my vespa then ill hit the petrol station. so whats a safe distance for me to know when to pump? i dont wanna end up pushing the steed like i always do with my vespa cos it's like ten times heavier lol. thanks alot guys!

That's what i heard about the shocks though. I already set my shock to the hardest yet when i hit hump or any bumps, i will just feel it going down but the 'bounce back' isn't much at all. With pillion worst, my fender will hit the tyre slightly.
