Just ride your bike to FM and tell the boss which part u want to chrome. He can give a quotation on the spot. Can also use my bike as a visual reference.

I also posted in another thread. http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/368868-Where-to-chrome-parts-such-as-Calliper-swing-arm-handle-bar-etc...?p=7841760&highlight=#post7841760

Hey guys. One of my front fork is leaking oil. Does that mean I got to replace the fork seal or? And around how much will it cost to stop it from leaking. Thanks!!!

Hi all, anyone here experienced water seeping into petrol tank (possibly from the tank cap)? Seems like a perpetual problem. Any solution? Not sure if replacing with a new 'original' cap will solve the problem though?

Hellooooo guys. Brand new to the thread. Not yet purchased my steed as still looking for a suitable ride.

Anyway anyone here have any historic background on a fm3xxx steed?

Thanks.

Happy CNY!

From what I heard, water seeping into the tank from the fuel cap is common for Steed and Shadow 400... After every time I ride in the rain, I will get water in Carb symptom ie slight sputter of engine on acceleration.

According to the mech, changing fuel cap will help. But you don't want to carry around 2 keys do you? I just had an idea of replacing the rubber. Let me try and source for it

Thanks for the response...appreciate it....been wondering if i would get any at all from this forum....;)

Yes, thought of changing the fuel cap too...LAB quoted $42 (claimed to be 'original'). Found a source selling the fuel cap at ebay at USD14.65. If it can solve the problem of water getting into the tank, i think its worth considering.

In the mean time, i've also tried cutting a 'gasket' like seal, using used rubber bicycle tire on the fuel cap as a temporary measure.

I've actually did a little experiment using cotton gauze stuff in the fuel cap key hole and then close the key hole cover; next, start pouring water over the fuel cap. Found the cotton gauze soaked with water in the key hole. Conclusion is that water can still seep through the key hole cover. So water may have seep through 1) the fuel cap cover, 2) the key hole cover or 3) both. We wouldn't know if it's the design flaw or not. If it is so, changing a new fuel cap might not help as well.

I'll continue to think and try other methods and share with you too. Cheers

diy a gasket but if im not wrong, cant be airtight or fuel cant flow.

ta200 fuel cap can fit.

or go to 219 custom a leather tank cover

or can put in methylated spirits once in a while to help make e water combustable

e0 2l + depends wat u choose.

spark plug 5-8/pc .4 pcs

brake pad $25(lousy)-70(ebc-hh) dun believe of mech tell u will wear e rotor faster

tyres shinko 200++. better brands 300++

oil filter 15-18

Anyone wants my Titanium exhaust wrap? bought from Autobacs, halved with my friend, but never used my share before. Length enough to cover the two headers. SMS/Whatsapp me with your reasonable offer if interested.

Of course I trust my skills. I ride alone cos I don't trust the competency of the driver next to me.
